Scandinavian Airports

Scandinavian airports absolutely deserve a place in World of Airports, and Arlanda is a great example of why this region should be added to the game. Right now, Northern Europe is one of the only major aviation regions missing from WoA, leaving a huge gap in the global route network. Adding a Scandinavian hub would finally connect Europe to the Arctic, Russia, North America, and Asia in a realistic way.

Scandinavian airports also offer operational features the game currently doesn’t simulate anywhere else: heavy winter conditions, frequent de‑icing, low‑visibility fog, long runways for heavies, and extreme daylight variations. These elements would add new gameplay depth and visual variety. Arlanda is a great example of an airport where these conditions are part of daily operations, making it a perfect candidate for WoA’s mechanics.

Another major reason is airline representation. Players already have SAS, Norwegian, Widerøe, Finnair, and Icelandair in the game, but none of these airlines have a true home base. A Scandinavian airport would finally give these carriers a realistic hub, making the route system feel more complete and authentic.

Scandinavian hubs also offer the ideal mix of traffic types: domestic Nordic flights, European medium‑haul, long‑haul to the US and Asia, cargo operations, and seasonal charters. Arlanda is a great example of a balanced, modern airport layout that fits WoA’s stand‑management gameplay perfectly, with clear terminal separation, remote stands, and dedicated cargo aprons.

Finally, there is strong community demand. Players from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland have been asking for a Nordic airport for years. Adding one would boost engagement and strengthen the game’s global appeal.

In short: Scandinavian airports should be added to World of Airports because they fill a major geographic gap, introduce unique operations, support airlines already in the game, and offer modern layouts ideal for WoA’s gameplay. Arlanda is a great example of how a Nordic hub would expand the route network, deepen realism, and satisfy long‑standing community demand.

This is like a third or fourth post in a few days that’s just a wall of AI text making a suggestion in the general discussion section for something that has already been suggested (the correct way) or even confirmed to be in development, what’s going on?
