Scheduling System Bug

I’m not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but whenever a scheduled aircraft is assigned to a stand, any other scheduled aircraft that are also assigned to that same stand don’t appear to show that they need to be assigned a stand, which is normal. But, once the scheduled aircraft has arrived at the correct stand (before it has to be serviced but after it parked), the unassigned scheduled aircraft appears wanting to be assigned a stand, even though the stand it is scheduled at is now been occupied.

Its weird that it only wants to be assigned a stand once the stand that its been scheduled at has a parked aircraft at it. I haven’t tried to see if the same is repeated at multiple airports, but it occurs at LHR.

If its hard to understand:

  • A stand, lets call it 501, has two aircraft scheduled to it.
  • Both aircraft are at LHR and can land provided that the runway is unoccupied
  • When one is assigned to 501 and cleared to land, the other aircraft doesn’t alert me that it needs to be assigned a stand, which is expected becuase its scheduled stand is now occupied
  • Once the first aircraft taxis to and stops at 501, though, the second aircraft alerts me to be assigned a stand, which is unexpected becuase its stand is occupied
