Screenshot competition - Conversation

With the amount of airlines you’re unsure about, would it not be easier just to do a low cost and leisure airline competition? Saves having to check every screenshot to make sure the leisure airline is one you mentioned, and a lot of them are hybrid low cost/leisure airlines.

I believe you forgot sunwing, WestJet and friends.

I second this because that gives us a better variety in airlines and also this topic about holiday airlines is a very tedious topic

Probably a good idea honestly

RIGHT, LOW COST ARE ALLOWED TOO, which means Ryanair, EZY, allegiant, zip air, lion air, etc, all allowed now

Uhh @Hirohitoswaifu and y’all … is Monarch a low cost or holiday carrier?

let HP handle it and I dont think the topic was changed btw.

This means they are allowed too meaning both low cost and holiday airlines are allowed.

Just a question

It’s a holiday/leisure airline, fitting into the original theme, HP even mentioned it explicitly in the prompt so I believe that’s fine

I quite literally said monarch is one in the prompt and in my previous list….

Edit: should’ve scrolled down didn’t see that others already said that

Hey, I’m just glad you’ve given people another reason to use it. Always great to see some wild Monarch contracts.

Can someone please tell me what the big fuss is about for Monarch? Is it the livery? Is it the name? Is it its reputation? Is it the planes it uses? Can someone please fill me in on why Monarch is so popular to people.

I genuinly dont know..

I just write it off as Brit thing.

It was a long running charter airline, from the 1960s unlike all the others, which had a great reputation and who’s loss was quite a big hit amongst the public, more so than other big airlines as it serviced the general public on their Mediterranean holibobs. Plus it’s just a cool airline imo.

@CJ_RVWilliams It’s a brit thing… thats insane to mention. and @Hirohitoswaifu thanks for the story

Not that insane, every British family who travelled abroad from the 90s to 2010s probably went on Monarch Thomas Cook a TUI predecessor (Britannia, Thomson etc). Very much a Brit thing lol

I remember flying Monarch when I went to Sharm El Sheik (I’m sure I’ve said this far too many times to count now :joy:) on a 757 and A300, as a kid you knew what you were flying on but took the flight as part of the holiday, but when you look back you really appreciate how interesting things use to be compared to now.

It’s just Jet2, TUI and easyJet now, gone are the days of going away with either Thomson, First Choice, Monarch or Thomas Cook.

My submission is at your whim, however, here was my thinking:
The airline USUALLY serves one purpose… to bring hundreds of “citizens” from one nation in the mid and North latitudes of the Western hemisphere (usually much colder) to regions much closer to the equator and further East… the vacations usually stop through very scenic holiday spots in Europe, the Mediterranean, and then a final grand spot in Africa or Southwest Asia! The vacations usually last about 6 months of the year (always seems to be the summer months), and then they return home! It’s like an all-expense-paid cruise in the air!

I’ll let it pass, this time…

Thank you! If I come to a tie for any position, I’ll automatically forfeit to the other person on grounds of my rule bending submission!
