This airline should be considered in the game, as Southern Winds was an Argentine-based commercial airline founded in 1996 with a fleet of small regional aircraft like the CRJ1s/CRJ2s, DH8As and B732s operating on domestic routes within Argentina and large wide-body aircraft like the B763s & B742s operating intercontinental services to Madrid & Miami. In September 2004, airport police in Madrid discovered 60 kilograms of drugs packed in four unaccompanied suitcases aboard an arriving Southern Winds flight. This resulting scandal cost the airline its government subsidy and ultimately resulted in the carrier’s collapse.
