Why should this airline be added?
This is an odd choice to suggest I know, we already have Air Berlin and Condor’s old Thomas Cook livery suggested. The reason for me doing this is this small batch of Air Berlin lived on as a separate airline, founded just after the airline’s collapse by Thomas Cook and flying on holiday routes from DUS and LEJ to Greece and Spain for Thomas Cook, under its own codes and callsign as a separate entity to Condor and to allow for a quick expansion into the German market on routes Air Berlin used to do. In November 2018, the Air Berlin brand was officially retired with the Thomas Cook Aviation brand taking over, continuing to operate flights using Condor branded aircraft, indistinguishable from the regular Condor aircraft but part of a separate airline doing flights for Thomas Cook exclusively. At the end of 2019, Thomas Cook went bust and Condor separated itself from the burning wreckage, still requiring the use of TCN’s aircraft for its routes in the short term. However, with the onset of covid and the downturn in passenger numbers due to the loss of Thomas Cook, Condor binned their contract with TCN and it filed for bankruptcy in the April of 2020, its aircraft being the last branded Thomas Cook aircraft about with some not having the text at the rear removed until they were taken on by Condor. It would be a nice one to see at LEJ, as another local airline alongside Condor using its own codes but being a copy and paste of Condor and Air Berlin’s A321 livery’s, giving the airport something a little more unique for players who have the radio on, like me
. I’m presuming this might get a couple of comments about this not really being a suggestion and I semi-agree, just would add something a little more unique for no real extra work.
