Hi everyone!

At Flyboys.Games, we know how much the little things matter, especially when it comes to aviation. The aviation world is full of intricate details, many of which often go unnoticed, but we believe they’re important to get right.

One area we’ve been focusing on is the lighting systems used on aircraft. Aircraft lights aren’t just for show—they play a critical role in safety and communication. Different lights have specific functions:

Navigation Lights: These are the red, green, and white lights that indicate the position and orientation of the aircraft. They help other pilots determine the direction the aircraft is facing, especially in low-visibility conditions.

Strobe Lights: These are bright, flashing lights typically found on the wingtips. They are used to make the aircraft more visible to others, particularly in flight.

Beacon Lights: These red flashing lights are located on the top and bottom of the aircraft, and they signal when the aircraft engines are running or about to start.

Landing Lights: These powerful lights are used during takeoff and landing to illuminate the runway and enhance visibility for both the pilots and ground crew.

Taxi Lights: These are used to guide the aircraft while it’s taxiing on the ground, helping to avoid collisions and ensure safe movement around the airport.

In our next update, we’re making sure that these lights reflect the different designs and patterns used by various aircraft manufacturers. Each manufacturer has its own approach to light signaling, and we want to bring that diversity into the game. Whether it’s the specific blink rate of a strobe light or the intensity of the landing lights, you’ll notice these small but significant changes that add to the overall realism of the experience.

We hope these enhancements will make your time in the game even more enjoyable. Thanks for being a part of our community and for sharing our love of aviation!

Yes! This is something that I have been wanting for years, thanks Devs!

We already need to pay attention to this detail, so should we also consider making the antenna package on the top of the plane,For example, the antennas on the top of B787 and A359

Same
I.e. with the ATR
I always disliked how some were incorrect placed

Indeed, a lot of aircraft have different light tone like, 757 which it’s light is more warmer (yellow) but some like 737-Max have LED lights which is much cooler (white) but also I’m hoping in game some aircraft like 737-800 would have both Warm and LED lights as these pics are for example

Thanks for the amazing 2.4.4, and looking forwards to further detailing, such as the lighting! Are more realistic pushback physics on the cards?

This is fantastic! The Antonov ones had been bugging me for years!

Awesome news! Flying on MSFS lately, I’ve come to appreciate the intricacies in operations, such as lights.
Not to complain, but I’d like to bump one of my future feature suggestions: Doppler effect on the aircraft sounds. Not sure if it’s possible to implement, but at the moment, they just get louder or quieter, but don’t change tone. I think the Doppler effect could really enhance the environment and immersion of playing.

This is a really nice little change! I’m glad smaller stuff like that is being noticed and improved

Completely agree with this. Hearing a departing aircraft getting louder as it approaches then the woosh as it goes past would be great. I also think improving the engine spool up and start up sounds would be nice alongside the Doppler effect.

What about the lights most airlines use to light up their logo for promotional purposes?

Yes, having the logo at the tale again lighten up all the time during night would be nice. Also to have the airplane frame lighten up by the landing lights, like seen in the pictures would be nice.

These are fun and pretty, but why can’t we get high speed exits? Most of these airports have one operational runway, and departures and arrivals sit and wait for a jet to nearly stop in the middle of the runway and then slowly make that 30 degree roll off at a whopping 20mph…. Surely there has to be some code somewhere that allows proper 60mph exits…
But thanks for the lights, they’ll be pretty spiffy to look at while we’re waiting for that immensely long exit…

I don’t think we’ll be able to have an aircraft taxi at 60mph… 30kts at most probably.

Those 30 degree exit ramps are made for exiting at 60. Once clear of the runway, they back it off to 20. But hell, even exciting at 30 would be better than 20 mph on a long slant like that
