Hello World of Airports community,
We’re back with an update on a feature that’s been in development for quite some time – in-game flight tracking. This project has been an ongoing effort, revisited frequently as new technologies become available that might help us achieve the depth and scale we’re aiming for. Our goal is to bring you an engaging feature that allows you to monitor your aircraft in flight.
Current Status: Steady Progress
Our in-flight radar feature is progressing well. Once implemented, it will let you follow your aircraft as they travel between airports within the game. This level of tracking is something we know many of you are excited about, and we’re steadily moving toward making it a reality.
Weather Integration – Still a Challenge
One important point to mention is that integrating dynamic weather data remains a considerable challenge. While we’re working hard to bring this functionality into the game, it’s possible that the first version of in-flight tracking won’t yet include live weather conditions. We’ll continue to explore solutions, but it may take more time before weather is fully integrated with this feature.
Limitations on Tracking
We also want to clarify that this feature won’t be available for every aircraft in the game. High-quality streaming of radar and map data for all flights involves paid services, which limits how broadly we can apply it. Our focus is on finding ways to make in-flight tracking accessible to as many players as possible without requiring high costs.
We’ll keep you posted on our progress here on the forums. As always, your feedback is invaluable as we continue to develop this feature. Thanks for your support and patience!
