:bullseye: What is your suggestion?
Changing the moment you can select an available stand after it has been vacated by another aircraft .

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?
Having a stand become available either as soon as an aircraft has started it’s pushback progress or could also also be a possibility to have the stand be acceptable as soon as an aircraft has finished it’s handling process and the ground crew has started with the walk around. Then you could select the stand while giving the landing aircraft enough time to approach, land and taxi to the stand. In Case the landing aircraft would make it to the stand before the other started it’s pushed back, it can stop a few feet away to give parked aircraft time to pushback as they already do when taxing.

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?
It would help expedite ground movement and aid in having aircraft land much more frequent given landing aircraft wouldn’t have to wait until a stand is available to land.

I think, though it would add a ton of complexity to the coding probably, it’d be cool to have this feature, and then in the example you gave, have aircraft wait in a holding area or in some un-needed taxiway until its gate is available. I recently had to wait 20 mins next to a runway and then in a holding bay because our gate was occupied :slight_smile: it could even go hand in hand with being able to change gates (in case one opened up sooner), but that’d have to be another suggestion.
