Ok, so you need to check the forum all time. Would have been nice if there could have been some announcements in the game prior to bigger changes in next updates.
If anything, can we have a sort of āsort byā option for the destination menu,so that we can sort the choices of destination by other means than the now system, which i guessed was sorted by the letter of the country from a to z. Iād like to have another options, such as from the highest profitable destination to the lowest, etc.iām tryin to submit it to the feedback website, but i havenāt found the submit idea buttonš¤Ŗ
Thatās an excellent idea! Itās frustrating scrolling through all the destinations looking for the most profitable route.
The devs are communicating with us players on Facebook, Instagram, their website, this forum, on Discourse and maybe other means I donāt know of.
Knowing that, as an interested player you can follow what the devs are working on.
It will be great also to see destinations have how many slots left next to the price
Donāt know what they did, but took a good game and made it so I donāt even feel like playing it anymore. Whatās up with the golden planes? No more golden planes for selling old aircraft? If Iād know that I would have sold my entire fleet prior to this update. Now ever plane needs maintenance even though most were just in for it.
It looks like covid-19 hit this game, my NGO airport stuck for 24 hrs waiting for some airplanes to be released from maintenance to send others, then wait again on and on, basically, itās all over
BTW, you may be not far from reality. In description of economic changes was phrase ācalculation adjusted to follow the real worldā. So, maybe thatās why X and L planes had experienced significant loss in profitability, then the L and M planes mostly had stayed on their level. Maybe a new era started in game, then having an full fleet of M-size is much more practicable than have bigger planes.
Real life, yes?
I have no idea if this is sarcasm or anythingš
Yes, it is very realistic.
The following are just my thoughts on the new update. I am pretty sure some will totally disagree and maybe some will agree. It is nothing personal and in parts it has a lot of sarcasm but it is just my opinion:
I am not quite sure, but is there a plan behind the new revenue system for own planes?
An example with an a380:
IAD-NGO 14600W (6010nm)
IAD-HND 17500W (5876nm)
IAD-LAS 10000W (1789nm)
So I get punished for sending a plane to my connection partner? It takes much longer until it returns (with up to 4hrs waiting time at NGO plus handling time), I have to pay more for fuel, I can fly less trips until maintenance and get less revenue? Wow! Thanks that is motivating!
Also the fuel costs are much higher now even though we earn way less with the flights. Wow! Thanks again!
Where is the point of having an own fleet and serving connections right now if you donāt get a higher revenue for it? For one or two gold planes (connection reward) I have to fly a bad paid route for a month or even longer if your connection partner is not playing much? Wow! Thanks, but that is not worth it at all.
And even the discrepance between generic traffic and own planes is not worth it anymore to invest a lot of money and golden planes in an own fleet. It is ridiculous how long you have to play until you have unlocked an L/XL plane with a nice livery and once you have it you donāt get a good revenue out of it anymoreā¦
Another thing I donāt like: For example if you now buy an A380 it costs you almost 500k and another 220k for maintenance before you can sell it for only 4 golden planes. I am not sure how many golden planes you need to unlock the A380 before you can buy it but for sure it takes months until you have earned that many golden planes back. Especially if you only get around 11k after fuel for e.g. IAD-NGO. That means you need to do around 65 of these return flights to end up without any losses. So after more than two months of daily flying you can get 4 golden planes without losing money. So if you have one A380 only it takes more than half a year to get the 10 golden planes for a new livery? Wow!
Yes, you can buy golden planes, but that is way too expensive in my opinion for a game on a phone especially if you are not earning enough in game money with your own plane after you invested real money.
I know the devs working hard on that game and there are no ads etc in the game and they want to earn some money with it. I can understand all of these arguments but guys honestly you need to update your revenue system, it is ridiculous right now!
And that the standard liverys are now costing a lot of golden planes as well is really poor. It seems the devs are really needing money soon. It is not really motivating to fly around with a white plane or just receiving other player planes without any color.
So one question at the end:
Is that game still free to play? Yes
Is this game still free to play if you want a progress and if you are not a full time player?
I am not sureā¦
I am glad that I have saved more than enough money already, so the changes did not affect me too much, but for new playersā¦
But afte all these critics I will end with a positive thing: Thanks for adding own cargo planes! That is really great and good to see them flying in my livery.
I agree with you but I donāt think the developers care, the fact they reduced the maintenance times & knowingly dropped everyoneās months of hard work down the toilet to me shows they are just not bothered about the mid to long term players of the game.
The money system is utterly bonkers & makes no sense, there are massive fluctuations in value on the routes even if the airports are close to each other, God knows how itās worked out. The general rule of thumb seems to be the closer the airport the better, to me IAD is now unplayable as the fleet I have there is just being sent to other airports in the US as the low income plus the massive fuel increase just makes flying any further unfeasible. The downside of this is everything comes back that much quicker & I have to go through the whole routine of sending everything out again a few hours later, itās just boring. Just as you think your making a bit of money 2 or 3 aircraft land that want maintenance & at that point I give up. All my connections have fallen of a cliff and I donāt blame them, I send out a massively reduced service too.
How are new starters are supposed to get going. Although it may be nice to have new aircraft types these things are not free, you have to pay for them. Those of us who whoāve been playing for a while had golden planes because we had planes to sell, that option is pretty much gone. I canāt imagine how youād open up the larger aircraft now, the cost of buying an A380, then running it til it gets past cat C maintenance, then picking up only 4 gold planes for it means your going to be playing this game for years trying to increase your fleet size. I mean it takes selling 3 A380s just to get the basic livery (they didnāt even bother changing the name of it).
Iāve dropped a fair bit of money playing this game because I loved it but I donāt think itāll be long before I uninstall it, itās just becoming boring. The āanniversaryā update was just a big kick in the teeth for those whoād been around from the beginning & my personal opinion is if the devs had the goose that laid the golden egg theyād shoot it!
I agree in parts but I think that is a little too extreme. If you see the overall progress of the game it is still amazing what has happened since day one of the game. All the features we have right now are just great. Only the new revenue system is a little too much.
I was always one of the players saying it was too easy to earn a lot of money before the update, the problem is that it is now the opposite of the old system. A middle way would be great between the new and the old revenue system.
But we should give the devs some time to hear all opinions and decide how they want to continue. Maybe they are now earning a lot more of money and they are happy but I donāt think they donāt care what the community says.
But for sure at the end it is all about real world money. I just hope the game stays playable for a reasonable price and not like 30$ for one plane that makes no in game money. That is absolutely ridiculous.
Iāve no problem with the revenues coming down, but weāre looking at it from weāve made our money & have the fleet the size we want. If the devs want to take with one hand then they should at least give something back with the other surely. Massive reduction in long haul revenues, huge increase in fuel costs & a big reduction in maintenance miles is not offset by the reduction in maintenance costs (which in my mind was only due to gamer backlash & not some āserver errorā issue. Iām quite happy for someone to show me what Iām not understanding, I fact I want them to.
Another special to this update.
If you think you should buy a C30J ā¦
Mine wanted to go to maintenance A after just 302 NM.
I got help promised but that stucks (and sucks).
Now this crappy plane is at NGO and stands its tyres flat just from standing there and waiting for the promised help.
If earnings on the game are a real problem then I have some suggestions.
A lot of nice stuff is offered almost free in the game.
Suppose special packages that sell for real money to get these.
Examples:
The 101st KLM Anniversary:
Provide all KLM planes with the 100th Anniversary livery for ⬠3,99.
The bonus liveries in the seasons:
All of them for ⬠2,99
(New Season, new liveries)
5 European / South American / Chinese / etc destinations with 5 arrival slots each.
⬠4,99
All Airbus planes is Airbus liveries, ⬠6,99
All Boeing planes in Boeing liveries, ⬠6,99
This keeps the game playable as it was before, but the Eyecandy is optional.
Would you support such a pay scheme?
I think thatās a great idea. I put something in the feedback portal about paying real money for liveries, the game as it was definitely deserved support. +1 from me
You can take this a step further and develop special airports with own airplane, airlines etc.
Eindhoven Airport comes to my mind. It is a joint civil/ military base so you can have lots of different and/or special planes.
I like the idea! Iād happily pay Ā£1.99 to unlock some of the special liveries as regular arrivals, and bundles that include exclusive aircraft. Iāve always thought if, say Ā£4.99 for a special airport would work, something like Madeira (FNC) or Gibraltar (GIB).
