Airport Type & Size
Major international airport with three runways, all classified as 4F:
• Runway 07/25 — 3,600 meters
• Runway 08/26 — 3,600 meters
• Runway 09/27 — 3,600 metersTerminals:
• T1–T3 — temporarily closed since April 2025 for reconstruction. After the opening of Terminal T4 in April 2025, Terminals T1, T2, and T3 were shut down and are undergoing renovation. They will no longer be used for passenger arrivals or departures and are being converted into air cargo relay stations.
• T4 (North Terminal) — opened in April 2025, currently serves both domestic and international flights and is the main active terminal.
• The terminals are connected to a multimodal transport hub (subway, buses, taxis).
Annual passenger traffic — up to 48 million people. The airport also handles over 500,000 tons of cargo per year.
All runways are capable of handling large long-haul aircraft, including the Airbus A380.
Why should this airport be added to World of Airports?
It is a major transport hub along the Silk Road, connecting China with Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Its unique location makes it an ideal point for both short- and long-haul flights. The airport handles mixed traffic — both passenger and cargo — in a geographically challenging region.
It also has a great geographical position for gameplay: in the center of Central Asia, between East Asia and Europe.
