Voice from a Chinese Player

Throwing around insults really isn’t needed, and insulting the developers and fellow forum users won’t get you very far at all. From reading the post that was made, there is zero mention anywhere of there never being any Chinese airports in game, the word delayed suggests that there may very well still be plans to introduce one in the future.

The post simply suggests that because of the issues from some individuals were causing means that attention has had to be taken away from other projects to resolve those issues, therefore causing a knock on delay to projects which are planned, or being worked on.

Im sure the developers will find it encouraging to see members of the community coming together to try and resolve the issues and build a level of trust to ensure that projects like a Chinese airport can come to the game in the future, but at the same time insulting the developers about their decision to delay any potential projects because they were busy doing other matters is absolutely not needed, and completely backtracks on the idea of having a mutual respect and a community that is willing to work with the developers on getting these projects to life, so they aren’t held back any more than they need to be.

On top of this, I’d like to inform everyone that action will be taken against those who have decided to go down the route of being aggressive and insulting other forum users as this doesn’t meet the forum guidelines, nor does it get you anywhere. This behaviour will not be tolerated here, as we aim to maintain a community that respects each other. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on a matter, and they are more than welcome to share their opinions here, but there are ways to convey your opinion, and going down the path of being aggressive is not the way to do so.

To the new users who have recently joined us, welcome! We hope you decide to stay as we are sure there’s something for you. To existing users, thanks for sticking with us, and we apologise for not acting sooner, although we have decided to monitor the situation closely before finding the right time to act.

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone! Happy flying! :airplane:

First, I must emphasize once again that many Chinese players are principled, and it was Chinese players who reported the illegal GP activity to the development team. As you said, creating Chinese airports will attract more Chinese players, but that doesn’t mean every new Chinese player will buy hacking services. There will still be a large number of fair-minded players who choose legitimate GP top-up methods, which will bring considerable revenue to the development team.

At the same time, as Chinese players, we can also help developers by reporting and holding accountable any hacking activities that harm WoA on Chinese-language internet platforms.

Finally, I’d like to invoke an old Chinese saying: “因噎废食” (“to give up eating for fear of choking”). I hope that neither you nor @LeChonk are the sort of people to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I wholeheartedly agree with your viewpoint! Any mutual attacks and insults are utterly unreasonable. My post was merely an expression of my personal opinion. I regret and apologize that this thread attracted some users who made hostile remarks.

I believe that no one here has violated the rules. If I have done anything inappropriate, please point it out. Thank you.

I think that this whole conversation should be shut down so it leads to no more negativity

That would be much appreciated! :+1:

Just in general:
Most of us want a Chinese airport in the game, we didn’t say nor think it was anyone on the forum. We just don’t want any hacking to be going on so unfortunately the Devs have to delay an airport in china.

Thank you for mentioning my city, yeah, I live in a somewhat beautiful city but with many issues and sadly a boring airport…

I have reviewed the devs statement again and I believe this way:

I think what devs indicate is that getting a lot of vote does not necessarily guarantee it will be prioritized but there is no mentioning that they won’t be considered or to be intentionally delayed. I don’t see such words from their statement, I think the delay they mean is about the secret business behind it.

Not pretty sure if you are familiar with the matter behind DEL indefinite onhold but I feel that can explain the situation.

The reason is very obvious even though devs didn’t make it absolutely clear: The Unity Engine charges by downloads so if DEL is introduced, considering the potential interest from India (a country with large population), the game may face potential high charge on licensing then no enough revenue covered from these downloads, making DEL economically not viable.

I think devs comment indicated a secret business that sells maxed out accounts or so on online shopping platforms (I know that is a business common in China), that specifically applies to Gatcha games where players have to buy an account to access special features (such as limited edition characters or so).

Game developers around the world have different strategies to deal with it on their discretion. Some allow it silently, some stand against it. I am not familiar with the industry but I can confirm there would be trouble (to some extent) for game developers (from Apple and Google) if there are so many accounts for sale online.

I don’t blame Chinese players for this, this is a business that exists in a reasonable way, that is, there are systematic reasons behind it since Google is silently banned in China and application distribution on Android in China is totally different from the rest of the world plus you have to take the fact that China is the largest market for Android smartphones into account. When there is no red line and pressure from app store then game developers have greenlight on it, it saves player time and those businesses get revenue. Why not?

Now think about it like DEL, when a Chinese airport is available in WoA I am sure there would be a lot of enthusiasm from Chinese player base (love it and always love it from my perspective) and thousands (or even millions) of downloads. And when they head into the game finding this game needs so many time to mining to reach the Chinese one and I can imagine how distressed they are, I believe some of them will think about buying an account.

That is what I mean it would be a problem for them. Flyboys is not a big company like some big ones from China, such as Tencent and NetEase. While these giants have enough resources to deal with the situation, Flyboys doesn’t.

I am a business owner so I firmly understand that there are many good things to happen but not viable when taking business into consideration. Business is business, that is the fact, and I also feel very sad and sorry about that.

I have reservations on this statement though. I guess every single airport could be unlocked using around 20GP or so, even if it is in the later part of the game. All you need is to spend some time in INN, obtain 20000SP and within like 3-4 weeks or even earlier you will be able to unlock any airport including a Chinese airport if there is one in the future (not to mention that automation is somehow allowed in the current setting). So there is no ground for unfair play by buying an account.

Thank you for your patient reply. I think you are the most patient person here to answer our questions. I also agree with your point of view, but I need to remind you here: there is an essential difference between China and India. India allows Google but China prohibits it. This will increase the download volume in India exponentially if they publish DEL. However, in China, Google is banned, which means that this game will never usher in a large number of Chinese users. It will only increase linearly or remain unchanged. The emergence of Chinese airports will only be a surprise gift for our existing players.

In addition, I am also an administrator of a WoA novice help group. We strictly prohibit the occurrence of plagiarism such as purchasing accounts. We dislike this behavior as much as you do, and we are also working hard to solve these problems.

@TorpedoPere i’d love to see a Chinese airport as many of them have interesting architecture, but i believe its best to wait until the hacker issue is gone to make it a reality.

I dislike when people get overly demanding to the WoA dev team - the reason this whole argument started - as they only have 6 people and it could possibly compromise their profit.

These are some political issues. Everyone receives different education. You just need to keep your own beliefs. Let’s not discuss this here. Thank you.

I just mean to maintain communication, cooperation and transparency. I don’t think it’s excessive. We didn’t threaten: there must be a Chinese airport. I don’t understand why you started to speak ill of us.

Im sorry if i did speak ill of you’s as that was not my intent, I wanted to explain their decision and defend the team as you seemed rather demanding in your original post. Regardless I hope a Chinese airport will be added soon.

This thread has clearly become more of a political discussion now, and we try to avoid politics wherever possible here. If the arguing about both the original discussion, and now the fact that somebody has suggested Kai Tak then I’ll have to consider issuing more silences. Can we please stop. This thread will be getting locked later on.
