Why should this livery be added?
VASP operated 10 of these between 1992 and 2000, forming the main type in their long haul fleet. They were flown mainly to North America and to Europe, regularly seen flying into ZRH but also having GRU as its main base. The airline struggled into the 2000s and sold its MD-11 fleet as it downsized to being a regional airline, operating 737’s and A300’s. Sadly, due to the high competitiveness of the Brazilian market, and the planned Government forced merger with VARIG, the airline collapsed in 2005.I’d honestly love this as a regular alongside VARIG and TAM at GRU (Imagine how cool that would be, 3 local MD-11 airlines
), and I think this livery would be a perfect event for airports in Europe and NA.
