As you see, those 2 Sunwing Airlines aircraft were leased from Smartwings/Travel Service. But due to some reason, they just changed the name on the aircraft. What should those be called? Any suggestions?
It was and is common practice. Sunwing used to lease Thomson jets which would remain in the TUI wave colours with the Sunwing replacing the Thomson lettering. Lots of examples especially in the 2000s with the likes of Thomas Cook and others.
I actually submitted as the feature request and I want to be more accurate….
Transavia (TRA) also used to do this. First with Sun Country Airlines (SCX) and later also with GOL Airlines (GLO).
When one’s busy season is the other’s slow season, it helps to add/diminish capacity flexibly.
As for your question, I would just name them “Smartwings X Travel Service”. This is common practice for brand collaboration.
Transavia X Sun Country:
Transavia X GOL:
sunwing had a codeshare with smartjet, i acually saw this in real life but it doesnt exist anymore, i also loved the TUI sunwing livery, which i also got to see irl
