:vertical_traffic_light: Why should this airport be added to World of Airports?
It’s WestJet’s main hub as well as being a focus city for Air Canada and Air North, with Flair and Central Mountain Air both using it as an operating base. It is the gateway to the Canadian Rockies and the main international gateway for Alberta as well as Calgary’s link to the rest of Canada and the USA. Lots of older aircraft types are still operated out of this airport mainly into Canada’s north with aircraft such as the 737-200s. Size wise aircraft ranging from the 747-8F to the Beechcraft 1900 doing scheduled routes in and out.

:airplane_departure: Major Airlines & Routes
WestJet, Air Canada, Air North. International airlines are now just KLM and Discover Airlines, with Condor seasonally, but prior to the pandemic British Airways, Edelweiss, Hainan and Air Transat used the airport with prior to 2010 Lufthansa and Thomas Cook visiting. Domestic and North American flights are served by all Canadian main airlines bar Air Transat, all the US legacy carriers and prior to 2010, US Airways, Northwest and Continental plus Mexicana. Cargo wise, the airport is served by local airline CargoJet, WestJet and its new cargo aircraft, Cargolux, FedEx, UPS and DHL.

I mention 2010 as that’s more my era and what I’d love to recreate in-game airline wise . Would love to see Jazz represented as a local airline if this airport ever comes to the game.

:world_map: Unique Features or Challenges
Snowy winters, long taxi distances, pretty views of the Rockies in the distance.
