I swear that Hong Kong Airlines, Hainan, some other airline I’m forgetting, I think shenzen, and now this all have the same livery, either I’m just insane or are they all under some corporate umbrella?
I believe they are, if I’m not mistaken, under the same parent company that own that own Hainan. Sort of similar to how TUI work I’d have thought, similar branding across the board but then a localised subsidiary for a certain region.
That is the case. Hainan Airlines is very famous for its enormous number of subsidiaries under the HNA Group. There are some that to be in a joint venture with local government or other companies but there are also many, especially with similar branding, fully owned by Hainan Airlines.
It is more likely a leftover of the bubble of HNA Group before the coronavirus pandemic.
As per ch-aviation, Yangtze River Airlines has rebranded itself as Suparna Airlines, while remaining part of HNA Aviation group, who are, in turn, part of multi-industrial Fangda Group.
And even their official website seems to support this, as the address is still the YZR code, while the logo in the top left corner says Suparna Airlines. https://www.yzr.com.cn/
