Zurich Airways officially opens LHR Hub for Global Connections!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

From the Desk of the CEO “Zurich Airways”

Base of Operations: London Heathrow (LHR)

Hello fellow Aviation Enthusiasts and WoA CEOs!

After several months of operating strictly behind closed doors as a solo player, I am thrilled to announce that “Zurich Airways” is officially opening its gates at London Heathrow (LHR) for mutual community partnerships!

Over the past few months, I’ve dedicated my time to fully upgrading and “maxing out” LHR. My operational philosophy is heavily focused on realism: my airport is bustling with authentic, real-life contracts, and every single aircraft is purpose-bought and assigned to realistic routes.

Now that the infrastructure is set, I’m looking to bring the vibrant WoA community to my tarmac. I am officially opening up for mutual connections – both handling your arrivals and deploying my fleet to your hubs.

What I am looking for (Inbound to LHR):

To make the most out of my upgraded infrastructure, Heavy Widebodies (Class E & F) will get absolute priority for my large gates. However, I have a huge soft spot for great aesthetics! If you operate smaller aircraft (Class B or C) featuring exceptionally cool, rare, or beautiful liveries, please send them my way – they will always be warmly welcomed on my apron.

What Zurich Airways offers (Outbound from LHR):

I am ready to deploy my dedicated fleet to your airports, with a strong preference for Long-Haul Passenger and Cargo operations. Here is what I currently am able to operate:

  • Heavy Pax (Class E/F)

  • Medium/Light Pax (Class B/C)

  • Cargo Operations (All sizes)

The Zurich Airways Waitlist Policy:

Because I purchase aircraft specifically tailored to certain routes, I might not always have the exact aircraft ready the very second you request it. Here is my promise: If I cannot fulfill your outbound request immediately, you won’t be ignored. Your request will be placed on my official Priority Waitlist. I actively track these requests and will purchase and deploy the perfect airframe for your route as soon as operationally possible.

:handshake: Let’s Connect!

I’m looking for reliable partners who enjoy the realistic side of the game as much as I do. If you want to establish a connection with Zurich Airways:

  • Please drop your WoA Username and your Hub(s) in the replies below!

  • Let me know what kind of aircraft you’d like me to send your way.

  • (Alternatively, feel free to shoot me a Private Message right here on the forum).

I can’t wait to see your liveries touching down in London. Let’s keep the skies busy!

Best regards,

CEO of “Zurich Airways”

Thanks so much for the incredible feedback! :innocent: :raising_hands: Honestly, pushing this to the “Player News” wasn’t even on my radar – I just wanted to drop a fun, realistic intro right here on the forum to connect with some great partners. I’ll definitely take that as a massive compliment, though! Let me know if you want to link up our hubs. Cheers!

Hey, what an entrance to the forum!

I am more than glad to accept an E-Class aircraft at Santiago (SCL)! If you like to, you can also send me one to Sao Paulo (GRU) which I am playing about twice a week.

I will send a 747 back from Santiago for now

Hey jogi747,

Thanks a lot for the kind words on the post! I really appreciate the generous offer.

Having five of your B748s heading to LHR sounds like an absolute powerhouse operation! However, I actually want to run a strict “Livery Diversity Policy” here at Zurich Airways. To keep my apron looking as realistic, colorful, and varied as possible, I want generally cap connections at 1 or 2 aircraft per player and hub.

That being said, I would absolutely love to welcome 1 or 2 of your 748s to my heavy gates at LHR! Let’s get those set up. :airplane_departure:

As for my outbound flights to your HKG hub: I have noted down your ID and you are officially on the Zurich Airways Priority Waitlist. I will purchase and deploy an aircraft your way as soon as operationally possible.

Looking forward to seeing your tail fins in London!

Cheers, Zurich Airways CEO

More then happy to send you a 747, however it will be a few days when I’ve done my science test, (returning to daily on IAD until I can afford ZRH).

Love the intro! Just sent a request from MCT with a 748. Happy to accept any non-cargo you like for that route.

Sending a pair of widebodies your way, and I could send more smaller planes (mostly Comacs) from my PRG if you want as well :slightly_smiling_face:

If you have any small planes around, feel free to send them to my PRG or BRI, my IGN is DM Airlines :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey Denis,

Thanks for sending those widebodies! I really love the livery on your B789.

I have plenty of gate space at LHR right now, so feel free to send those smaller planes from PRG whenever you want. No rush at all, just do whatever fits your schedule.

For sending planes back to you: you mentioned PRG and BRI, but what about BKK? Since you sent your widebodies from there, I’d love to send something to that hub too, if you have space.

I don’t have any small planes just sitting around right now, but I’d gladly buy some for your routes! Let me know which of these you’d prefer to see: CRJX, BCS3, A21N, A321F, or C17.

Let me know what works best for you!

Cheers, Zurich Airways

Hi, actually I’ll be closing my BKK not too far into the future, which is why I didn’t mention it. When that happens, I’ll switch the connections to my MCT (or another hub if I manage to get to one), but I’m not too active at MCT yet and for now I just needed to send the planes from my BKK somewhere.

I’m defintely more active at PRG, and my MCT is still getting there, but I can accept at any of the airports I mentioned.

Also, I’m curious, which airports can the C17 make? Don’t think I have any of those as player contracts right now, so it would sure be a welcome sight if it works economically. Would definitely be nice to see some A220s as well, those seem to be very underutilized as fleet planes but I can really take anything, so just send whatever’s profitable :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll send the PRG-based planes later today, in about three hours, and I think I also have a couple of regionals at BRI looking for a destination so I’ll send you those as well, thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

Alright. Understandable.

From LHR the C17 can make to INN, BRI & PRG. Although unfortunately I just saw on “reference destination”, that profit would be negative as Demand is far too low on all those destinations. I’ll just confirm it real quick and if the balance isn’t negative I’ll send you the C17, otherwise I’ll send you other smaller planes

Hi, I’m happy to take any type or plane size you have at PRG. And i will sent in return from my different hubs. Thank you

Finally got to PRG, took me a bit longer than expected. Anyways, I’m just now sending 2 737s and 2 C919s, and I also found a spare 787 which can apparently make LHR profitably so I’ll send you that one when I free up a widebody stand as well (might take a while) :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for sending those planes over from PRG!:raising_hands:

As I try to keep my airport looking as realistic and colorful as possible, I actually run a strict “Livery Diversity Policy” here at Zurich Airways. Because of that, I want to cap connections at 1 or 2 aircraft per player and hub to avoid duplicates.

To stick to that rule, I went ahead and accepted one of your C919s and one B738, but had to decline the other ones. I really hope you understand!:innocent:

I am definitely still looking forward to seeing that C919, though!

Wishing you a rest of a good evening/a good day :sun:

Hello Zurich Air! I am Currently working on SCL and have (almost :/) maxed out BKK. I’m not sure if you have any but I would really appreciate a plane to SCL, you see I’ve just got International and I’m trying to get as many real life contracts as I can get! I can send you 1 plane if you send me one plane. As I thought you said 2 planes maximum. (I might have got that totally wrong so if so I apologise) at this point I don’t have enough funding to buy my own planes at SCL so I can send you Es from BKK if you would like. I have B788s and B744s. I know it’s not much but I mostly buy smaller aircraft, -just thinking ahead to when ZRH comes out and loads of airports are near me- sadly I don’t have any livery’s on large planes at the moment because I was thinking I might try get the upgraded pass on ZRH. As I don’t know how much it is I’m saving as much as possible right now. I think I’m up 55 GP so I’ve got a long way to go.

Uhm… I realised I’ve literally just yapped about the most boring stuff lol. So so sorry for the long message hope it all makes sense.

Many thanks OIEO
