#32 – Devblog after Update 3.5.0

ANC is crucial for complementing cargo airports, as it can serve as a cargo hub for trans-Pacific routes, covering airports in North America, East Asia, and Western Europe. It is hoped that it will be launched alongside the cargo system update, forming a global cargo base system together with LEJ and HKG.

HKG is also a major cargo hub. But yeah ANC seems most likely to me as well.

Not even a statement about the issue?

ANC is also a decent airport for 737 variants, at least when it comes to Alaska Airlines. It could be a good airport to release with the 737 roll out.

Charlie has mentioned about it many times in General Pre-Release discussion and if I am right he even acknowledged it a whole big separate post

There has been some communication although it seems slow, but you need to email support and they will compensate you. Some people have had multiple weeks tho of wait before receiving GP.

If we do get ANC I really hope that it comes with the Lake Hood seaplane base attached. It’s such an interesting combo and if I recall correctly it is the worlds’s largest seaplane base. If that comes with the cargo update, new cargo aircraft, etc… I could totally see that being a 4.0 major update. Might even be the biggest update since 2.0.

This is why I’m a bit dubious about ANC. I know Charlie really wants seaplanes so I can’t see an airport with seaplanes being added without them. Plus ANC as you say, ANC would be a fantastic addition with the cargo overhaul update due to the numerous unique types operating in and out.

It could be, since the publication mentioned plans to launch a new aircraft, perhaps a seaplane, which is why they mentioned it. Maybe it’s an ANC.

Vancouver International Airport should be next for cargo, sea planes, North American hubs and a major hub for Asia routes.

Not trying to put down ANC but we already have 3 US airports but we have no Canadian Airport in the game.
Google Vancouver International Airport and you will find some interesting facts about this mega large airport.

Cheers

ANC supports so many new features. Seaplanes, cargo, and 737s. For all three it seems like a great candidate to be the launch airport for them, and any two together feel like justification for 4.0. Because of that, it feels kinda inevitable to me, but I also can see a world where there are a few more airports in between now and ANC. We know ZRH is 3.6, and it seems increasingly likely that PRG is 3.7. So the earliest that ANC seems possible in would be 3.8 most likely. The last version number before each generation update was 1.5, and 2.6, so going to 3.8 seems plausible but maybe more likely that they would do 4.0 around that era. Alternatively, they do ZRH-PRG- another unknown airport- ANC 4.0. All speculation but that’s what I see.

After the PRG remodel, I think that LHR also needs a partial remodel as the roads and surroundings are kind of “outdated”, and the stands need more flexibility.

ANC seems to be the number one spot for Cargo, however I dont know if the cargo needs to be met yet. we have HKG and LEJ for cargo hubs. There kinda needs to be a sense of urgency in putting an airport in africa or somewhere in the oceanianic / south-east asia area to connect sydney to places.

How bout we get both anc and yvr? ANC would be that second cargo airport we’ve been waiting for while filling out that part of the map, and YVR would be that Canadian airport, filling the gap of those heavy pax transpacific connections while also providing B plane connections to anc. And both airports support seaplanes so maybe it would be possible to make connections or have special events with that. So I think if we got both they would complement eachother nicely!

Just found exactly what this discussion was about :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
So yeah, that would actually make for a pretty interesting gameplay challenge.

It could also work well for the Boeing 747 Dreamlifter

Isn’t that plane coming with PRG and hasn’t it already be revealed to be the L410?

The new non B737 aircraft is coming with the PRG remodel, not the future airport. Given that - I’m assuming it’s the L410 as this has already been teased by Charlie and makes perfect sense with the PRG remodel.
