757-200/-300 (and 763) not available on a lot of irl routes

Platform:
(Android / iOS)

Game Version:
(visible at the left bottom)

Airport:
Majority but mainly for LHR and IAD as they’re big hubs. Plus European airports like BRI for Condor as they were the sort of airports it used to fly into.

Description of the Bug:
757s are limited on the routes they can fly unlike A321s.

Steps to Reproduce:
Trying to buy a 757-200/-300 to do an irl route, say from IAD to DEN or EWR or IAH are not able to be done, even though the advantage a 757 has over an A321N doing the route is minimal. FedEx also operates from IAD to EWR with a 752F which again is unable to be done.

DH16DH’s fantastic work.

With the addition of the new BA Negus 752 as a regular, I’m unsure if it’s a placeholder for a future BA Chatham 752? (Buying all I can in the meantime ), and the BA 763 being in-game, it would be nice if they could operate on the historical routes they did, the 757-200s being used in Europe only (a short experiment was done in the late 1990s with sending them to North America but it ended fast) and the 767-300s being used heavily on those same routes such as FCO, DUS, FRA and even within the UK to MAN and EDI, as well as ofc to North America.

E.g. BA 763 near exclusively on European routes. Same with the 757-200 for BA.

And the introduction of the 757-300s for Condor are limited to just MCT, which is very unrealistic as they never strayed out of Europe. Currently there are no airports that irl took them but the likes of BRI and INN are the most holiday airports in-game currently and especially BRI is the one they really should be available at.

Nothing I can think of :slightly_smiling_face:

I think there is some barrier preventing planes larger than C class from being on local routes, but it was mentioned in the Devblog (or maybe a response to it, I don’t remember exactly) that the devs do want to fix it with HKG (on the widebody routes to mainland China at least, but I think it will be used everywhere)

This isn’t essentially a bug. This is more about game mechanism.

The game generally sets minimum distances to access airline contracts of each aircraft type. For example UA B752 could be 1,000nm and B753 could be 2,000nm.

Remember what devs did when they found AY has A359 for LHR? They reduced that distance threshold to very low to allow A359 fly from HEL to LHR. I believe you can do the same at BRI or even PRG.

So yeah would like to see all of them being reduced for many D class contracts.

And hopefully in HKG the threshold for CX E classes can be as low as 100 (or so)…

Yeah, wasn’t too sure where to put it. Wrote a separate feature suggestion one for it but felt it fit bugs better lol.

Makes sense regarding the minimum distance now I think about it, would be nice if the minimum was dropped for the 752/3 and lessened for certain 767-300s in the sense of Finnair’s A359 and Iberia’s A346 for LHR. Can then maybe have the A332/3 Qantas on more local routes at SYD too as per irl which I hope we get with HKG.

I mean there have been local 747s at NGO for years, so it’s definitely possible.

NGO also has the short haul 767s for Air Do, but not ANA or JAL.

Which indicates that it’s not a blanket thing where EVERY plane of type x appears as long as it’s c distance away, but rather the devs already can pick and choose. So I imagine adding wide bodies to hkg locally won’t be hard.

Hopefully we’ll see short haul widebodies, but the fact 757s (especially Condor 300s that never went any further afield than Dubai) are seemingly restricted to longer routes now where they were always available on short haul routes, as an example I’ve got one at IAD from EWR that I got before the recategorisation of it.

Of course not every plane, but my idea is that each airline have different preset follows this [blanket rule].

For A359 probably 250nm for Finnair but 2,500nm for Delta. Can vary differently from airlines.

So yeah, I think people are looking for Cathay to have all E planes set at 250nm or so to access various widebodies to mainland China.
