Why should this livery be added?
Ansett was founded in 1935 and sadly died in 2001 and the cause of this was multiple issues, the grounding of the 767 due to maintenance issues, an ageing fleet, overpaid high level staff and heavy competition left the airline losing $1.3 million a day!! Air New Zealand took the airline over and attempted to cut costs but ended up causing more harm, the blocking of a takeover deal from Singapore Airlines by the New Zealand government and the rebuttal to takeover Virgin Blue left the airline in a precarious state, dragging ANZ down with them. The government then decided not to inject the promised $500 million for both airlines leading to total collapse. The New Zealand government bought out ANZ but abandoned Ansett and the the Australian government refused to bail the company out ending with 16,000 people unemployed, thousands of people stranded and widespread protests, including the blocking of a plane taking the New Zealand PM home from Melbourne. The airline’s administrators then accused ANZ of stripping Ansett’s assets but no evidence was found.It was a sad end to a well know airline and with the introduction of the 747 remodel in the HKG update, which both the 744 and 743 flew to regularly, it would be fantastic to have Ansett in-game as an airline at SYD to operate as a competitor to Virgin and Qantas and on routes to HKG with both this 747-300 and the 747-400 on the route.
