Why should this airline be added?
A very prominent Australian airline, Ansett Australia was a full-service carrier that served the nation of Australia, connecting its major cities domestically and internationally. The airline first flew as Ansett Airways in the mid-1930s, before rebranding itself several times in its existence, with the last iteration being the “Ansett Australia” brand. The airline flew a plethora of aircraft types and had many subsidiaries under its wings, some of which now operate independently after the collapse of the airline. At the turn of the 21st century, the airline faced significant hurdles in its operations regarding its fleet, new competition against low-cost carriers, and the downturn of 2001, all of which contributed to its downfall, though there was an attempt to revive the airline, which was dubbed as “Ansett Mark II,” but only lasted until March of 2002, where the final flight touched down for the last time. Seeing such a historic airline added into the game (at least as an event livery) would be great, as it would highlight such a unique chapter within the history of aviation in Australia.
