Why should this livery be added?
(To be honest, I was a little surprised to see that some types such as these classic 737s operated by American weren’t suggested yet, so I might as well have the honors lol)Following AirCal merging into American around July 1987, American took on quite a number of their 737s, including all of their 8 737-300s, and sent them into service - later re-registering them around mid to late 1988.
Their time with the airline was somewhat brief, however, with all being phased out from American’s fleet after a few years - specifically between 1991 to 1992, with the last examples (N676AA and N677AA) being phased out in May of the latter year, being sent to Morris Air… which in itself was merged into Southwest later. It’d be a nice addition to see with the soon-to-be 737 Classics, further adding both to American’s fleet and representation of a somewhat brief, yet notable part of the airline’s history.
