:chart_increasing: Airport Type & Size
Minor international airport serving destinations across the UK, Norway and some flights to Europe.

Has 1 main runway, RWY 16/34 at 6,407ft/1,953m with 3 Heli runways H05/H23 at 1,562ft/476m, H14/H32 at 1,906ft/581m and a single way only H36 at 853ft/260m.

It has 2 terminals, one for ordinary flights and another for Babcock/Bristow and other North Sea Oil companies.

It also hosts a Loganair maintenance facility and Bristow Helicopters main base.

Overview,

:vertical_traffic_light: Why should this airport be added to World of Airports?
It’s a Loganair hub and the busiest helicopter airport in the world (So if we ever see the whirlybirds, this airport is a must). It can take a 767-300 no trouble so it’s a good D Class airport akin to INN but with no backtracking and plenty of stands.

It should be added as it’s an everything airport hosting all forms of aviation with regular visits from the RAF and other air forces as Lossiemouth is just up the coast. It was also recently the host of the US military’s helicopters whilst a certain someone went golfing with PM Beaker.

It’s not too large and is situated next to Dyce which is a pretty town and has a large industrial estate on the other side as well as P&J Live at the bottom of the runway, a large event complex for music festivals and the such. You also overfly Aberdeen on landing from the South so that could also be partly modelled in.

We’d require the BAe ATP as it was a regular there into the 2020s prior to retirement,

:airplane_departure: Major Airlines & Routes
The airport is a hub for Loganair and it is also hosts easyJet, Thomson and Ryanair flights and has done for years as well as being well connected to Heathrow through British Airways who sometimes operate A21N’s on the route, previously having operated 757s from time to time.

In the past BMI Regional operated a base at the airport as well as FlyBe and recently deceased Eastern, with Thomas Cook for holiday flights (They occasionally operated 757-200s) and BMI also operated the competitive route to LHR against BA, Virgin also operated their A320 on the route to compete later, with BMI operating a fair few charter flights too in the late 2000s and early 2010s until they became part of LHR. These all could make good locals bar maybe BA and Virgin (Though the A320 should be made a thing ).

The airport has Aer Lingus, airBaltic, KLM, SAS, Widerøe and Wizz all as regular contracts with the airport having been served by Air France, Lufthansa, Azerbaijan (Yeah I know lol, oil I suppose) and Icelandair (With a DH8D, very unique).

The cargo scene mainly consists of Loganair with their inter-Scotland freight, West Atlantic with 737F’s and DHL within the UK with their B752F’s and occasionally B762/763F’s.

:world_map: Unique Features or Challenges
Snowy winters are a big feature of the airport being situated between the North Sea and the Cairngorms. It is a busy airport, especially with helicopters added and other facilities like maintenance, it’d be a real challenge for players to manage the lot quickly and correctly.

A cold 2001 winter,
