The toothpaste Air Canada livery for the A340-500

Why should this livery be added?
As per the TAM post, Air Canada operated 2 of these, purchased fresh from Airbus in 1997 and was due to be the launch customer for the type along with 3 A346’s which we sadly never got to see as the orders were delayed and ultimately cancelled in 2008. The A345’s, which was also deferred due to the airline’s financial issues in part due to 9/11, arrived in 2004 and thus Emirates was the launch customer, utilised mainly on the YYZ-HKG routes as well as to Shanghai and Delhi. The airline found the A345’s to be very expensive to operate so ended up ordering the 77W and 77L in 2006, rendering the A346 order useless and the A345 on borrowed time. In 2007, the aircraft were replaced with the 77L on the Hong Kong routes, operating with a 12% operating cost reduction on the route, and by November they were retired being leased to TAM until the lease was ended in 2011 and the aircraft were disposed of by Air Canada in 2014. As per my TAM post, the aircraft barely had operational lives with one being scrapped in 2015 and the other still stored in Spain to this day, not having flown passengers since 2011.They should be added as they’re firstly my favourite aircraft in one of my favourite livery’s (Yes this is all about me
), as well as being representative of a time in aviation where an aircraft type was outdated on arrival and this is shown in the aircraft’s short lives. Also, being a HKG regular in those short years of service make it well suited to being added as a regular livery for those of us who want to run their HKG as if it was the mid-2000s (Also me
).
