The TAM livery for the A340-500

:pushpin: Why should this livery be added?
TAM operated 2 of these birds, PT-MSL & PT-MSN, on lease from Air Canada from 2007 til 2011. The aircraft had been delivered brand new to ACA in 2004 and were out of service by 2011 with them being in storage at GIG from 2011 until 2014 when one was flown to Lufthansa Teknik, then flown to Tereul in 2018 where it still resides and the other was scrapped in situ at GIG in 2015. It’s my favourite aircraft type and sadly they had a terribly short life, no airline really wanting to operate them due to the expense and the long haul routes not being as profitable as they thought compared to the B77L which had nearly the same range and capacity but only had the 2 engines, especially combined with the housing crash of 2007/8 which basically put the final nail in the coffin for these big graceful birds. I still can’t get over the fact that PT-MSN flew for 7 years approximately before she was stored and scrapped, what a waste.

I’d love to see this big bird operating flights from GRU, especially if seen with a full TAM short and long haul fleet at the airport, would make me reopen it again and have a full fleet of these beautiful beasts.

Adding the comment, this is a massive want for me. More TAM would bring me back to GRU, the A330 and A340 are some of the cleanest liveried examples around and I’d love to have a fleet of them.

I was wondering why my post for this livery wasn’t approved, I should have known you already had it in the making

I had to confirm with Charlie about whether they were allowed haha. Once I had done I will admit I’ve had this ready to go for a couple of months now lmao so it was out in a flash like the rest though the Singapore had to have a photo change as I had an older livery photo in it.

Also, thought I’d add, wasn’t me who denied it originally hahaha
