:pushpin: Why should this airline be added?
Founded in 1994, Air France Asie was a subsidiary of Air France created due to the legal status of Taiwan and territory disputes with Taiwan to continue flying to Taiwan from France, which many airlines created at the time like Australia Asia Airlines, British Asia Airways, KLM Asia, Japan Asia Airways and Swissair Asia. Air France Asie provided services from Paris CDG to Taipei, with stops in Hong Kong’s Kai Tak up until its closure in July 1998, when it moved its stopover to Hong Kong International Airport and also operated flights to Osaka via Hong Kong with a fleet of Airbus A340-200s & Boeing 747-400Ms, which were both leased from Air France. It ceased passenger operations in 2004, following the merger with KLM, Air France–KLM Group, to focus vitally on freight. Air France did not resume passenger services to Taipei until April 2018.

Founded alongside was Air France Asie Cargo, Air France Asie’s Cargo division which consisted of a fleet of Boeing 747-200Fs leased from Air France and operating freight flights from Paris to Taipei and select Asian Hubs like Hong Kong & Singapore. In 2007, Air France Asie Cargo ceased all operations, with the decision reflected challenges in the Asian freight market, including competitive airlines and fluctuating demand, prompting a shift towards mainline services rather than specialized subsidiaries.
