AN24 - Antonov An-24

Topic title: ICAO code
AN24

:small_airplane: Aircraft Model (Name & Manufacturer)
Antonov An-24 by Antonov Design Bureau (Soviet Union / Ukraine)

:globe_showing_europe_africa: Aircraft Category
B (Wingspan: 29.2 m → Category B, due to short wingspan and light operational profile)

:compass: Purpose or Role in Game
Regional turboprop – short-haul passenger and cargo transport for developing markets, former Soviet states, and remote regions.

:chart_increasing: Why should this aircraft be added?
The Antonov An-24 was a workhorse of Soviet and post-Soviet regional aviation, used heavily in rugged environments and unprepared runways. Its inclusion would bring:
• Greater historical and geographical realism to Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and parts of Africa.
• Gameplay diversity with older-generation, slower, rugged aircraft.
• Opportunities to simulate low-cost regional or state-operated routes to remote or underdeveloped airports.

:airplane: Airlines that use it
• Air Koryo (North Korea)
• Motor Sich Airlines (Ukraine)
• SAT Airlines (Russia – formerly)
• SCAT Airlines (Kazakhstan – formerly)
• Tajik Air (Tajikistan – formerly)
• Cubana de Aviación (Cuba – retired, but notable)

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Special characteristics or variants
• STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) capability
• Designed to operate on unpaved runways and harsh climates
• Capacity: ~44 passengers
• Range: ~1,800 km
• Cruise Speed: ~430 km/h
• Popular cargo variant: An-26, which shares airframe but adds rear cargo ramp
• Widely exported to over 30 countries
• Often used by military and humanitarian operators
• No modern avionics or jet engines – excellent for “low-tech” gameplay challenge

Isn’t this another AI written request written by the same person who was doing it before? Multiple AI detection softwares have said it’s majority written by AI

It is but it’s an old one. Just recently been edited by the wiki editor.

Most likely yes but this post was written several months ago. It only popped back up while I was renaming posts to conform to the naming convention of ICAO TYPE - Aircraft Model/Family and updating the directory.
