What is your suggestion?
Clearly describe your idea or the change youβre proposing.
- Add a rolling takeoff feature where aircraft begin their takeoff roll without coming to a full stop at the runway threshold, similar to procedures used in real life operations under specific conditions.
Note: In case this feature has already been addressed or is planned, please inform me and I will gladly close this topic.
How would it work in the game?
Explain how this would be implemented from a gameplay or UI perspective.
- When a runway is currently occupied for a takeoff, and no other aircraft is in the same runway. The said aircraft immediately begins acceleration without stopping, as soon as it is fully lined up.
- This will also be useful in the Innsbruck Airport where a runway turnaround pad is used by class C aircraft. Instead of a brief stop, the aircraft continues to accelerate until it gains enough speed to take off.
Why is this a good idea?
What improvement would this bring? Better usability, realism, fun factor, accessibility?
- Albeit a minor feature, it improves realism by reflecting procedures that are actually used in real world airport operations.
