Aviation Talking Point

The worst: Ryanair B737-800 to PMI this year.
The best: Enter air B737-800 from AYT to WAW.

Not sure about the worst as I’ve rarely had any issues with flights, mostly a certain airport in the Channel Islands I’ve had a major problem with and that was a one off it seems. Did have an overnight delay when flying back from TFS with Thomas Cook, the 767 went tech after arriving and we were messed around for a good while being told about different gates and times before they eventually put us into a hotel. The following day when we finally flew home was also my first time using a bus gate if I remember correctly.

In terms of best, I’d say it’s down to 2 flights currently. Jet2 from MAN to TFS back in February, a couple hours delay departing due to weather and ATC slot restrictions but finally got to visit the flight deck of a 757, and it also turned out to be my last 757 flight with Jet2. Other one would be Condor from DUS to PMI, despite being a really early morning departure back in April, the flight was really nice. The meal I ordered was really nice (and cheap for an airline meal!) and flew on a special livery 757-300. Also gave me a bit of a throw back to when I use to fly on Thomas Cook 767s to Tenerife and back as the aircraft still had its Thomas Cook cabin.

If all goes to plan, those won’t be the last of my 757 travels as I’ve got a flight booked on one next year (hopefully it doesn’t get swapped), but should still be an interesting trip either way.

Edinburgh to EWR on united?
Just a guess.

Just cause their stairs at the back doesn’t mean they are there for the passengers.

  • Delta
  • United
  • American

Have any of you got aviation books?
I have 3 and I swear the only time I pick up a book is when i read those :joy:

The Heathrow one was £25 :sob: then the low cost one was my dads so I’m not sure. Then the aircraft book was a gift from my grandpa (former pilot)

I have like 10 aviation books from when I was a kid, I would send pics but I’ll have to find all of them which will take a while. I also have a bunch of remote control aircraft as flying them is one of my hobbies

Only 1500kts? Seems a little slow for Santa haha. 60KFT is above where it starts to warm again, but even then it’s still probably around -40C/F and with those speeds, I wonder what the wind chill would be…

For me it was just because my dad was in the hobby of flying remote control aircraft and I caught on to it. Now I own 3 aircraft and my passion for aviation grew exponentially

Air Force meteorologist, so I live on an airport (base) and brief pilots all over the Southeast US weather for their flights.
