Aviation Talking Point

That’s is true, but some airport encourages people to bring empty bottles to refill them after security, for example my local airport last year brought out water dispensers for people to refill before the flight

That is unless you pay €2 per bottle which was 50 percent more compared to last year which was €1 per bottle.

Pretty sure that’s because someone tried to let of a liquid bomb on a delta flight on Boxing Day.

One I was talking about is the UK one in 2006

Nope! I brought some raw salmon through security at SeaTac earlier this year for a domestic flight! As long as the icepacks are completely frozen when you bring them through security, you can have them in your carry on. If you are flying internationally, you are of course subject to customs regulations.

That situation you just put

This is a sentence

Also ironically my boyfriend just went thru SeaTac last week, seems like we all like Seattle , he just didn’t take food

I have to take meds through, ice packs are fine.
You can definitely take snacks through. Did it today as a matter of fact.

I think someone would object to maybe taking McDonald’s through, especially with a large soda lol. But things like crisps/chips, chocolate bars etc are just fine.

Can I post memes here?

I don’t see why not, though it might be good to have a thread for memes alone.

It’s definitely all to do with how it’s packaged, and the majority of food related turn aways occur at the destination airport (preventing disease/pest spread to native plants and such). I’ve brought many a snack on flights. I’m wondering @Ecoaviation did someone bring food on your flight that offended your nose? Lol

I’ve been to the US a few times, DUB has a US pre clearance, and most of the food brought through there have been morealess seized and destroyed, I’ve also bought food on flight but what I am talking about is food should be banned before going through security, same like liquids.

No wonder a majority voted against the ban. :man_shrugging:

Those are really extreme cases. Of course probably why he got caught is simply why is he trying to bring AN ENTIRE CHICKEN trough security, that would rise some eyebrows.

Everywhere they will object when you try to pass fresh produce mainly (since they can carry unwanted pathogens) or soups (since they are liquids). Other than that, why should food be prohibited

Well yea. Welcome to Florida.

I get that liquids and raw food etc is not permitted (due to bomb danger and diseases), but food after security and on planes is expensive as hell. So on Ryanair flights for example I just bring my own bread in a lunchbox sometimes. I can’t think of any reason that should be banned for the people who wanna do that.
