Why should this airline be added?
During Swissβs restructuring, the airline dropped the Geneva to Lugano route which led to a chap called Julian Cook starting an airline to do it himself. The airline was founded in 2003 and steadily grew, taking on its own leased aircraft in 2004 to operate. Then in 2005, the airline purchased the 2 Q400s to operate more routes from Switzerland to neighbouring countries, most of which Swiss had dropped. In 2007, the airline was struggling and was sold to an investment firm, who promptly kicked Mr Cook out from being CEO, before aquiring 3 E190s to open longer routes to the likes of Kyiv and St. Petersburg, however neither of these routes were successful. In 2010, the airline disposed of their E190s and was bought by DWT - Darwin Airlines (Etihad Regional) , bringing it to an end in 2011. It had a really cool livery and visited quite a few European airports in Italy, Austria, Germany and France, filling in gaps left by a shrinking Swiss and competing on a few routes with emerging mega airlines like easyJet.Destinations list,
