Why should this airline be added?
The liveries already exist in-game, and I think itβs worthwhile separating BA Cityflyer from British Airways for a few reasons.
- BA Cityflyer operates flights on behalf of BA like many other regionals do, but operate under their own callsign (this is not the case for KLM, Lufthansa, or Air France for example). A BA Cityflyer flight from LCY to ZRH will have IATA flight number BA8763 but will operate as CFE31L for example (because alphanumeric callsigns) and so ATC will call them FLYER instead of SPEEDBIRD.
- There is a precedent for this with Qantas and QantasLink which operate similarly. Qantas flights have ICAO code QFA while QLink flights are QLK. Lufthansa and Lufthansa CityLine are also separate (though arguably incorrectly since CLH operates with DLH callsigns).
- BA Cityflyer doesnβt operate out of LHR and so this could remove the B463, E170 and E190 contracts out of LHR, preventing the persistent E170 random contracts that many complain about.
- This can allow BA Cityflyer contracts out of smaller UK airports without giving access to the entire BA fleet. BA Cityflyer has flights out of EDI, STN, and formerly SOU for example.
