Why should this airport be added to World of Airports?
It is a major holiday destination and it would be nice to see a Portuguese airport in the game.

I like this airport, looks like its in a sea of colourful slop

Would be quite BRI like but I like that airport so have no problem with that.
Last went there in 1999.

Would make for a brilliant airport this.
The C-141 is one of the most underrated aircraft of all time IMO, such an awesome and unique airframe
Was on an Airtours A320 from Gatwick.
Airtours livery is a snazzy one, pity all those airlines that merged together as Thomas Cook are now all gone.
I do love those sort of odd looking military aircraft, the B36 is one of my favourite as its just stupendously daft and ugly, but I love it.
The airport was such a mix of cool holiday airlines from across Europe, as well as being capable of handling large international flights.
Wouldn’t mind seeing this as a generic airport tbh, this or Madeira
Madeira is a much closer match to the generic airport than CNN is, but it would be a shame to have an airport as well known as it relegated to a generic airport and miss some of the key features that make Madeira as well known as it is.
This could make a good generic tbf, thought the terminal building is quite a snazzy one.
Madeira I feel would be a good proper one as it is very unique and well known. Just depends on if everyone is happy with backtracking akin to INN

Even if that’s the case, I do think FNC would be an airport best being done as a traditional airport from the start. Especially because of its approach and the runway extension.

I mean CNN needs backtracking as well depending on the Runway in use
Honestly, I don;t see an issue with Madeira being Generic, it suits it honestly, as long as the surrounding island is somewhat realistic
The runway is one of the features of Funchal that make it so iconic, I don’t know if the devs could do it as part of the airport. Faro, as you say as long as they get the scenery correct, which is swamp and flat, could quite easily be generic. I hope we get it tbh we need an airport in that area.
i think to add in FNC the runway animation needs to be extended so that the iconic bank is in there
