Founded in 2003 by Moritz Sunter, who also founded Crossair in 2002, Hello was originally being intended as a regional scheduled carrier but was relaunched on 1 May 2005 as a charter airline operated services to European & African destinations from it’s main operating hub at EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse with the airline first operating a fleet of MD90s, before replacing the aging aircrafts with Airbus A320s in 2011. The airline would filed for bankruptcy and cease operations in October 2012, with a statement Hello said the reason for the closure was, the financial implosion of two large French customers, ever higher fuel costs and the strong Swiss Franc, which led to the cancellation of a large contract with TUI Germany”.
