Fokker 70/100 Pre-Release Discussion

I began when based in Shannon, but live in Westgate on Sea, 10 minutes from Manston so that’s where I was ultimately based, but before the operation there begun, I was based in Basel-Mulhouse, Bergamot, Italy and also Niederhein in Germany. It was a great little airline, shame it was so short lived.

Id imagine if they had a base in Shannon.

Yes, aircraft were on Irish register, but main base was in Manston, Kent. MSE/EGMH.

Sad to see airlines especially based in my home airport of Dublin go, I only been on one (Aer Arann) which used to go from Dublin and Cork, especially sad since I wasn’t around when Eujet died.

Oddly enough one of them now works out in Australia.

Yes IIRC started off as a charter airline before going into Low coast market. Ah nice I’m Kent as well and hope we get to see the airport reopen and passenger flights return and need something that can fly to Canary Islands, Greece, Turkey etc as Fokker 100 had its limits understand from someone who use to work at EUjet that Faro was pushing it for F100.

It was more a wet lease ACMI. We were on medium to long term contracts for other airlines, such as Air France, TAP, V-Bird Airlines. We provided their service, not our own.

Yes, dependant on winds, sometimes FAO, AGP etc. I believe they had to limit pax numbers or bags or both.

Seems we’re a little closer now to it reopening again now the legal issues seem done. It would be so convenient. I used to land off a flight and be home 20 minutes later.

Good to know, even if it didn’t I would still say it should be added because it’s a unique livery for an unpopular aircraft

Papua new guinea is actually getting rid of them, around mid 2025 or early 2025 they are exchanging the fokkers for A220s
