I have a general question: In terms of airports, what exactly is the roadmap this year? They usually say 3-4 in years past but this year I don’t think we’ve really gotten a clear view of that, and if they are still planning those 4 airports then it is a bit behind since we are almost halfway through the year without a single airport. And if we are counting remodels as new airports, how many of those are planned for this year? And whatever happened to generic airports? Anyways not trying to rush things, I am glad that they are revising old airports. I’m just genuinely curious…
INN, ZRH, PRG, ??? Seems to be the list. Remodels absolutely count
And generics seem to not be planned anymore
I kinda will have to agree the remodules will count,
Bring in an african airport or an airport that connects Sydney to someplace. Also without any teasers, it is so unbarebly hard to figure out what the next airport is lol…
Perth would be perfect
Honestly, it’s a bit disappointing.
Fully detailed airports are great, no doubt about that. But I actually liked the idea of generic airports. There are many places I’d love to play, but realistically they’ll probably never get a fully detailed version.
For example, airports like Jeju International (CJU / RKPC), Gimhae International (PUS / RKPK), or even something in Central Asia like Samarkand (SKD / UZSS).
I always thought generic airports would allow locations like these to be added much faster. And from the devlogs, it seemed like there would even be different visual templates, which made the idea even more promising.
But quite some time has passed, and we haven’t heard anything about it. It’s kind of sad to see such an interesting idea go quiet so quickly.
Yes, it’s really too slow.
Why do they want more generic products, so they can be criticized again? Excuse me for saying this, but that’s what happened when the generic airport was released. And for my part, it’s fine; it’s better that the developers don’t release any more generic ones and just focus on detailed airports.realistic details.
So if they don’t plan to release any more generic airports, then what is the plan with CNN? Will they just leave it as a standalone airport or will they upgrade it into the real life thing?
About generic airports:
- no info that devs stopped with generic airports.
- No info devs work on new generic airport
I can have missed an official message. Then deny my message
Tbh the criticism was understandable
My only real issue with CNN is that the layout is not the same as real life
The building itself I don’t mind but atleast have the taxiways and runways accurate
I’m not sure. Maybe @Charlie can clarify something about this or at least hint at what’s actually going on with generic airports and what we should expect.
That’s just my personal opinion, but these airports don’t bother me at all. On the contrary, I think it’s a good idea to add airports in places where there’s a low chance of ever seeing a fully detailed version — especially those smaller or less represented ones. Since the focus is usually on bigger airports anyway.
Could do with some of the new XLR’s to be added I think?!
I think that maybe they would add a generic airport for asia or for Africa, just to fill the hole.
I believe that if the devs added CNN, it might quite possibly just be a test run to see how the gamers react when they make the airport and receive the feedback to see what they can change or do better.
My perspective on generic airports is kinda really on the fence, depending on the airport and how real it is. If the airport is made right, they are used in the real world.
I am curious, however, to see what the next Generic airport comes out on being. I hope that they actually make the airport look kinda below the real airport but nothing extended for airport wise like having extra stands or such.
That is exactly what CNN was - a test run - and feedback was not spectacular. My hope is they dont, and rather dedicate resources to realistic airports and such, but that is maybe just me.
heir heir, I wasnt a big fan of the whole idea in the start. I hope they just scrap the idea
I am also hopeful that they just let the idea of generic airports fade away…. I think there might be a nice balance between having a full airport layout 2D map be realistic and use generic assets for the 3D environment, but with the amount of time that would take I’d still rather see fully modeled airports.
Any ideas what airport is after ZRH? I thought I read somewhere that ANC was a consideration…?
Not gonna lie it’s disappointing seeing this feedback for generic airports
