I think that it would make sense that it would be unlocked through CNN, but the first problem is - what if CNN gets turned into a real airport? The devs have said that popular generics might get modelled to reality and then it would need to go from one chain of airports to another. Another weird thing would happen if the next generic was a big one, so you would be able to get a large airport for just the few GPs for CNN and a few short weeks of grinding. But that could be fixed easily so I still think unlocking generics through generics is better. It would also be weird to have many airports which you just couldn’t get without spending GPs - eliminating the best reason to progress through airports. CNN is already unusual because of this

I think they’ll keep them separate and if they need to merge one into the line they will. The generic airports are for people who want said airport so I believe they’ll all be bought with GP, but we’ll see.

Reckon they do few generic airports before they chose which one to make more realistic.
