I wonder if Kai Tak could be implemented alongside HKG say as a separate runway and terminal over to the east. Might blow up several old iPhones but would be sick.
I hope all stands and gates are in the game too, we on the pic
This airport will be by far the best one yet. and the most fun experience yet! cannot wait! will be interesting how they manage the local flights. i can see it being cathay 321s, HK express etc… for local contracts with maybe level up rewards as CX widebodies. would be good to at least have air hong kong A300s on the local contracts
Just HKG in itself is gonna do that
I don’t think A300 local contracts are gonna happen
Looking at HKG a lot more on FR24. i noticed the freighters land on the new runway. i like this idea if this gets implemented. the lengthier taxi times helps to increase the overall handling time and i feel its easier to get more planes in to make the airport look busier
I think devs once talked about a function to manually change the runway and taxi path for planes (maybe for each stand) but I have not heard about that recently.
Honestly, I wouldn’t want to see all three runways in HKG used for landings like in BKK.
07L/25R – landings only
07C/25C – departures only
07R/25L – both landings and departures
I think that would be the most optimal setup (and if I’m not mistaken, this is actually how it’s used in real life, based on this message: General Pre-Release Discussion - #140 by TechnocraticAviation ).

Is there any official information about how the terminals/gates will be allocated in future? Will one terminal be used exclusively by Cathay?
From what I’ve read the regional East Asian airlines will move over
Cathay Pacific is confirmed to stay in Terminal 1. It is expected to continue using T1 as its base, especially because of the connectivity and lounge infrastructure there.
It is also reported that some of the airlines more tightly integrated with Cathay Pacific’s operations (Oneworld alliance etc.) will likely remain in T1.
In total, about 15 airlines are expected to move check‑in operations from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 in the Spring of 2026 (around March‑April). For example HK Express, Hong Kong Airlines and Greater Bay Airlines. It will also include various Southeast Asian carriers and airlines operating regional/rpoint‑to‑point routes to China, Japan, Thailand etc.
Just reminding the devs to add all the short local E/F contracts as they do in real life, that could be really helpful for gameplay.
Yes that’s right
I propose adding a HKGFS Airbus H175 helicopter as an easter egg at the Hong Kong (HKG) airport. The Hong Kong Government Flying Service is a vital real-world search and rescue unit, and featuring their iconic H175 would add great local flavor. It could be placed on a helipad, similar to features seen at other airports like INN and BRI, making HKG feel more unique and immersive.
Based on the classic aircraft models featured at other WOA airports – like the Ilyushin Il-18 (DM-STA) at Leipzig/Halle (LEJ) and the ČSA DC-3 at Prague (PRG) – it would be fantastic to see a Cathay Pacific Airways DC-3 (VR-HDA) as a static model at Hong Kong (HKG).
This would be a wonderful tribute to the history of Hong Kong’s flagship carrier, celebrating its early “Silver Wings” era and connecting the modern airport to its rich aviation heritage.
Furthermore, if the HKG airport scope were expanded to include the entire Chek Lap Kok island, it would be incredible to see the Ngong Ping 360 cable car incorporated into the scenery.
Adding the Airport Island Angle Station and the cable cars traversing the landscape – whether as a static or animated feature – would create a uniquely iconic and visually stunning backdrop, making the airport instantly recognizable.
Inspired by the fantastic work done for São Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU), where WOA meticulously recreated the Linha 13 Jade metro line complete with its Aeroporto-Guarulhos and Guarulhos-Cecap stations, a similar treatment for Hong Kong’s Airport Express line would be exceptionally cool. Implementing this iconic rail link with its two key stations – Airport and AsiaWorld-Expo – would not only enhance ground service operations but also add a dynamic layer of authentic transportation infrastructure.
To achieve ultimate authenticity, the model of the Airport Express train (8 car train) could feature the specific rolling stock configurations, accurately labeled as:
· Towards Urban Area: Leading car labeled as Baggage Car.
· Towards Airport & AsiaWorld-Expo: Leading car labeled as Passenger Car.
Absolutely! That’s an excellent suggestion. To build on this idea, the Ngong Ping 360 isn’t just any cable car. It’s frequently ranked among the world’s top 10 Cable Car Rides. What makes it uniquely perfect for this game is that it’s also the only one of its kind located immediately next to a major international airport. It would be a standout highlight, creating an instantly iconic and unforgettable scenery for Hong Kong.
I don’t think those structures are coming.
While imaginative ideas like the cable car, Cathay City, and DC3 are wonderful, we completely understand the technical scope. However, as a player from Southeast Asia, we also strongly join in the hope that the Airport Express is included as an indispensable element.
Its tracks and trains are the lifeblood of the airport, seamlessly woven into the very fabric of the terminal’s visual identity. Regardless of where the final visual boundary is drawn, the Airport Express is not just an ‘add-on’—it’s a core and non-negotiable part of the passenger experience. Its presence is what truly completes the scene and captures the essence of arriving in or departing from Hong Kong.
That’s a very fair and realistic point, and we completely understand the practical limitations the developers face.
Our suggestions were merely imaginative ideas, exploring the possibilities if the visual boundaries were extended. We know that a cut-off at Chun Yue Road would exclude the cable car (the blue area), and a narrower scope at Chun Wan Road would leave out Cathay City and a potential DC-3 (the red area). We fully accept that the final scope is a technical decision.
The inclusion of the Airport Express is the one element we are most hopeful for, given its central role, but we ultimately trust the team’s vision.
Most importantly, we want to express our profound gratitude. For WOA to dedicate its resources and talent to our home, which often feels like a tiny dot on the world map, is something we do not take for granted. We are sincerely thankful from the bottom of our hearts for this gift to our community, regardless of the final details. Thank you for everything.
