It is known that IAD WILL BE REWORKED, IT WILL BE LIKE THE ONE THAT IS WORKING NOW IN REAL LIFE OR IT WILL BE REWORKED ONLY THE STRUCTURES.
You forgot to turn off caps lock
It is on the to-do list and very likely already in development. The remodel will still have just two active runways, though.
You could put a 3rd Rwy into operation that is parallel. There is no problem of crossing RWYs like in Prague or SYD. It’s a shame if you can’t use it. Are there maybe any new stands? In IAD, similar to LEJ, you constantly have the problem of too few workers (handlers). It would be helpful if you added stands in an update, like you did in MCT…
Maybe someone can tell us what we have to expect with a remodeld IAD, only the surrounding area or maybe also features like stands at the airport?
There is also a runway in the south of IAD that is not in the same direction as other three runways. However, I believe that runway still could be used as a take off runway for sure (like FRA irl). So I expect there should be 4 runways in total after reworked.
I think there are some stands that not in the game. If you check the satellite image you will find some. I found two areas, one between the west and center runway, and another one is next to the current remote stands area. Hopefully devs can add all the missing stuff altogether.
The thing is a lot of thr older airports before WOA 2.0 dont have 100% stand allocation as in real life especially remote airports. For example IAD have a few more remote stands and the z gates closest to terminals have jet bridges but the ones on the game are remote.
Even with SAN, Cargo is on the other side of the runway and theres far more remote gates than what is currenlty shown.
Think the only airport that is 100% accurate is SXM and LHR due to the collaboration which has enabled further accuracies.
PRG is usually single runway operation in real life.
I am telling you what to expect. The devs have repeatedly said, in two dev chats in a row, that they are not going to add functional 3rd or 4th runways to Dulles, and that it will be a solely scenery and airport cosmetics upgrade.
thank you very much!
Did they mention anything about stand allocation?
They said in the past that the IAD rework was going to be a testbed for runway selection and dynamic weather, but not sure if they will end up following through on that.
I think the two are mutually exclusive, doubtful they will happen at the same time
That sounds about right
Today IAD had little visibility in the game, it would be logical that they are testing this with the airport at this time, and that they are testing other functions mentioned in the conversation already.that IAD would be that test bed that the game needs since it is being remodeled. We’ll see what happens over time.
Let’s not rule out anything since they want to implement detours, delays due to weather, runway changes and all of this, perhaps they are testing some of these functions today until the new taxiing system They are testing it since one of the developers said so.
I suggested that as well. Hopefully the devs at least include it as an optional terminal to build
Today when I listened to the broadcast they said that they plan to include the function of using all the runways not only in IAD but in all the airports in the game except for Muscat and Prague or just me it seemed

will the rework just be a remodel or will it be a complete reworking of the airport like the image above
That was a study of the existing gates of course, so no new terminal there, but I also read United is phasing out their regional jets by 2030 and replacing them with smaller narrow body jets like A319s/A320s and 737s, so they planned on getting rid of the “temporary” regional terminal and replacing it with 8 more M-X gates.
I hope so!
I’m not that much into the subject, and I don’t know the airports as they look in real life, but IAD at least feels similar to the original.
(It has to be said, however, that the in-game airports are of a high standard).
