Why should this livery be added?
From 2009 until 2017, Iraqi operated 1 of these, with it being withdrawn and stored in September of that year before becoming part of Fly Baghdad’s fleet in December 2017, until handed back to Iraqi in 2022 who it flew with until 2023 before being stored at Baghdad. This livery was only applied in 2014/15 as it previously wore the previous operator AirTran’s livery for 5/6 years, making for an unusual sight at IST and other airports it frequented.The photos in this livery are very hard to come by, these 2 being the only ones that show up when searching Google by its reg, even though the aircraft wore the livery for nearly 3 years and was regularly utilised on routes around the Middle East and into Europe.
It would make for an excellent addition to the Iraqi fleet providing a smaller option for players to fly into their airports.
Appears it returned from its lease to Fly Baghdad in a bit of a state hence the storage, having been hastily put back into service in a basic paint scheme but being dirty and having some malfunctions and maintenance issues. Considering it’s now been 3 years, it’s unlikely to fly again with the airline. Link to a video of the aircraft in 2023 in the basic livery.
