It’s really beautiful, I wonder if they have a full time photographer on site cause they have so many really cool photos. I also wonder what the fella taking off is?
It really would make Innsbruck so much nicer and with this potential remodel Charlie mentioned on the other post yesterday, I wonder if this could be a possibility ![]()
The devs did do an on site visit to inn back in the summer so hopefully they can take from their experiences and make the airport as accurate as possible!
Look mum, more photos

Need the FlyBe Q400,
@Hirohitoswaifu you have been posting so many of these awesome historical Innsbruck photos, and I had no idea it used to be so busy and diverse with airlines. I don’t know a crazy amount about the history of the Innsbruck airport, but I’m kinda curious:
Why is INN so much less busy and diverse than it was 10-15 years ago? Nowadays at Innsbruck, there is only a couple year-round flights, being the Austrian E195 to Vienna, the Transavia 737-800 to Amsterdam, the EasyJet A320 to Gatwick, and that’s about it. But back in the day, you had dozens of airlines, 757s, 767s, A320 variants, etc.
My question is, what happened?
I suppose it’s a couple of things with INN, it’s very much a seasonal airport and a lot of airlines with a large presence there are no longer around (ie Monarch, Niki and Thomas Cook).
Where you’d use to have Monarch, Thomas Cook, Thomson and First Choice, you’ve now got easyJet, TUI and Jet2 for example.
This and the loss of the likes of Niki, Lauda and Air Berlin plus the collapse of traditional charter holidays and nipping into your local travel agent because now you just load up skyscanner. It’s very much now about getting the cheapest price, whereas it used to be about letting someone else set up your holiday and enjoying the experience. We lost a lot in the banking crash of 2008 and it’s never really recovered. Sad.
Shameless promotion but I included a little article I found on the wayback machine at the bottom of the suggestion about a round the world tour the airline did. Don’t know if such things are offered anymore lol.
Some airlines survived financial turbulence and took over the routes the ones which died had, but nothing ever appeared to challenge them. The 2000s were a fantastic time where there was so much more choice available to the consumer and sadly that can be seen in the colours you can see at airports and ofc INN. It’s why I want them to be remembered in-game lol.
Im hoping some missing airlines/liveries and routes will be added with INN remodel, like Jet2’s silver A21N, air seven B738, avanti air DH8D and TUI B38M and routes like TUI from BRS and other missing routes
Hopefully the addition of Cardiff too as that had routes to INN back in the day from Thomson/TUI.
Helllllooooo dear avgeeks!
I wanted to ask, what your strategies at INN will be, after the update
!
And I wanted to ask, if the multi directional runway operation will be like CNN or can we decide?
Anyways, my strategy is a little F70 fleet and international contracts (ofc 2 D planes from U SA
)
I really don’t know, I almost full completed even the pass, but I can’t wait to see the diffrence ![]()
I’m presuming like INN and dictated by the irl wind. Strategy will be the same really, lots of airlines and liveries though depending on if the benevolent devs reward us with more 757s, I might have a lot more of them there haha.
Wow ![]()
Turns out we didn’t see it in the remodel
. Might be the biggest letdown, was hoping for some more real life 757 content but zilch.
INN remodel is beautiful but it really could’ve done with a bit more detailing further out to prevent the floating buildings when aircraft land from the East (The pre-update way) as they ruin some otherwise pretty screenshots. It also could’ve had some work making the cow mountain a bit prettier, doesn’t have to be airport levels of pretty but just so it doesn’t look like Google Earth from 2007.
Floating buildings in the background as per below in front of the tail (More vivid on landing shots from that end of the runway),
I would’ve been happy to deal with the not realistic diagonal D stands if we’d had some form of 757 to populate them with as I know the reasoning for them and the 757/767 being forced to the edge of the taxiway is because the 767-400 and MD-11 are permitted to be at the airport but no new 757s has really thrown a spanner in the works of what could’ve been my new favourite airport.
Personally I’d have liked to have seen a new D- stand implemented at INN, separating the 757 from the rest as irl, the 767s made a stop in Vienna for fuel and to pick up more passengers before they continued to far off destinations as the runway isn’t long enough for a fully fuelled 767 to operate in and out of (Maybe a -200 I don’t know the specifics on them). The 767 was used on non-stop charter flights by Lauda to Greece and Spain from INN but we can’t do that anyway in-game. It feels like the airport was compromised in order to allow aircraft that shouldn’t be at the airport to be there. I’m happy with lack of realism, I mean we have fake liveries in-game like Prime Air’s 748F, but it’s just disappointing to see INN done this way.
Feels like the ‘INN’ update was actually the A330 family update with graphics oh and Innsbruck had a remodel btw. It feels hollow to me and I’m not really feeling the urge to play it. New graphics have made me go back to IAD though so I suppose that’s a plus.
Edit: Actually a bit more miffed, no spotting position on the river’s shoreline for these alternative landings,
I feel the combination of A330 and INN was a bad one, maybe split in 2, A330 with more liveries as there are so many more that could’ve been seen and then INN with more relevant liveries and maybe retro liveries, maybe combined with the DO328 or ATR remodel.
I mean, I wasn’t expecting no SYD update, which got the fokker and a321ny as well as the qantas 767f to help accomodate it. But even though I like the new inn on it’s own, I did hope it would get more features to support it like more new camera angles or liveries that actually fit with the airport. Good update overall though!
See though I was sort of expecting something nearly as grand as the SYD update, it has no real reason not to be. The SYD update came with the NY because Qantas and the Fokker because its still used down under lol. INN is smaller and must have less of an impact on devices so surely it could be grander. Plus combining a type’s remodel with an airport that has only had said type visit once as a publicity stunt with enough fuel to fly from Vienna and then back plus no pax, just seems a bit odd.
The A330s have come out splendidly I just wish we got more older liveries with it, Air Berlin and Dragonair/Cathay Dragon being two of the highest voted airlines and yet zilch from them but we got Shaheen lmao. And the new shadows are phenomenal, a real game changer so I’ll agree the update was good. Just INN was a letdown imo.
I still don’t see how INN is a let down? Just because it didn’t come with the liveries you wanted?
