Heathrow is an almost perfect airport, except that it is almost not filled with planes since it is a very large airport, in my opinion the largest airport in the game which you reach a point where if you have more than 200 aircraft contracts there are planes that do not go to never land due to the saturation of contracts depending on the time you dedicate to the airport, in my case I dedicate 1 hour a day. I think that in order to fill that airport, planes need to land on both runways and take off equally on both runways, although I already know that in real life at certain specific times planes land on both runways and then only use one.

Brilliant airport, once I’ve done Sydney and eventually Bangkok I go back to it.

Personally my favourite airport in game as I’ve been there a ton. And it’s the only airport I’ve been in WOA… Until next spring when I head to San Diego.

Hi Fellow Aviators,

I’m loving this game and been playing it for multiple years now.

However I keep getting to the point where my landing runways’ capacity is the bottleneck of my airport. I’m on LHR with all stalls unlocked, but am permanently using only 20% of it as the runway is constantly occupied and always the bottleneck.

It would be my dream to be able to use both runways for landing or takeoff; at my own discretion.

Would that be possible pls?
What would an enthusiastic game fan need to do to make this a reality :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thank you!

That would be great. That could save me a few hours a day.
But unfortunately, the devs mostly orientate themselves on the original and 2 planes never land parallel in London.

I also agree with you on the subject of “gate usage”. The airport always looks empty. I always let the planes land for 1-2 hours and only then handle them. There is enough staff for this.

The problem is that the time a plane needs to land is almost the same as in real life. But the time at the gate, the handling, is 2-3 times faster. This means that the airports mostly look empty. Exceptions are now IAD BKK MCT LEJ (airports where more than one aircraft lands at the same time)

I don’t think there are any plans to fix your problem for the time being. But who knows what the WOA future has in store for us.

That’s why LHR sucks lmao. Play IAD or BKK

In my opinion LHR is probably a few massive flexi hubs consdering i took T4A-C, Plus it’s a great airport from one of my home countries

That’s not how Heathrow works. Plus it already has aircraft parked there overnight ready for the morning, some flights land then get put on remote stand till they return with the evening flight.

Then why don’t you explain to me how LHR works? I am curious.

Here:

Check the “Using both runways for arrivals” part!

According to it, dual landing happens between 6-7am, and may happen after 7am aswell, limited to 6 landings/hour on the departing runway (Tactically Enhanced Arrivals Mode).

After maxing LHR, the best approaches to playing late game LHR are either leave the game AFK landing and then play it, like Krankenwart described, or use X planes only. The second approach won’t help with gate usage, but you’ll be able to use all staff.

I believe we’ll only see a better LHR in game when they finish the 3rd runwway in real life, which should take years. Meaning: play BKK instead.

Please help maybe you have some strategy. And you can ask me some questions to understend my situation in airport. Thanks!

Start of with local M contracts. You can also get some player contracts here on the forum or on Discord (WOA server and/or Phat’s server). Also I would sell off most planes that you claim that have a ‘LHR’ tag, since they’re not very good and it’ll help expand the airport faster by buying stands (the ones without you can claim at other airports to get a boost). And other than that, just play and enjoy the game your own way.

If you have any planes that can be claimed at LHR, claim and sell them, you should get a decent amount of money to start.

Buy M stands around T2 and T3, don’t buy those at T4 since the take off ones will occupy the runway. You can also buy some at T5.

Get BA A321NX contracts (w/ the most SPs) to places you can buy, and then you should be able to grind fast. If you don’t have enough ground staff just buy more stands to get more staff. LHR has enough staff to play around so you don’t need to worry about bigger planes.

You can also buy cargo stands (and contracts), they generally come with more rewards.

I signed 5 contracts. Am i need more?

And what others contracts would you recommend.

Now just play play play. No need to rush it, enjoy the game at a steady pace. Eventually it will begin to fill fill fill

I think you need more, get more A321NX from BA to more places around Europe (until you find no enough ground staff and then invest on ground staff by unlocking more stands).

After you reach regional level, get some cargo contracts, ideally B752F and A321F. You can also opt for A124 contracts paying some SPs (not cheap but with more XP so you can think about the trade offs)

After you reach international, you can get as many A124, B748F, B744F, A388 and B744, B77W contracts as you want (and cancel all narrowbodies). They won’t require all your groud staff easily and you can always handle them together in most cases.
