Funny how i also noticed that. I saw it before the jet bridges
Semi-abandoned N Gauge layout. Selling a lot of the track but keeping most of my rolling stock and some track. Going return to it some point in the future, try and make the original layout board (what itās all on
) look less cluttered.
I do have plans to incorporate a model airport and a railway at some point though, so thereās always that! ![]()
T Gauge is 1/450 and I collect 1/400, so bringing an airport to life is an interesting idea Iāve only seen a couple of times.
What GSE brand do you recommend im looking at the jc wings set as it comes with jet bridges. Do you know of any other brands.
The JC Wings set is what Iād have used, as Iāve had some on a previous airport, but they are impossible to get. Gemini ones are alright, Iāve only used them as thereās nothing else available which looks good.
Thanks. I can get some when i go to the US as i can get it from a few stores over there that have it in stock as i can ship it to my relatives there then i can pick them up the next time i go (hopefully October or December)
Aircraft Model Store always have them in stock, Iād get them off there or eBay. I think I got mine off eBay.
Alright. Cheers
Oo gauge is my rail layout. Based on part of Belfast to Dublin line with head as far north as Laytown pass through my homemade Gormanston Airfield (which I turned it into a passenger airport) and as far south as Skerries in the south.
Back to plane talk unless you want DM me with train related talks ![]()
An airfield on a model railway? Send some photos of that if you can. Donāt see many models of airfields or really small regional airports.
Sorry another question, but should i use real Glasgow routes (as thats what my airport is mainly based on) or should i just get models i want (and cheap ones. Not us as my airport is in the uk) as id need at least 2 easy jet 319s and 2 costs about £100 from Aviation retail direct.
(Onley place i can find em)
I tend to base an airport off of somewhere, use its airlines as inspiration but basically get whatever you like. Funnily enough I went Glasgow yesterday.
Also im hoping to go to airliners international in atlanta next year so hope i can get some bargains then.
Alright thanks (sorry i just like getting peopleās opinion
)
Isnāt there an aviation fair near Gatwick? Might be worth going there, you can normally get some rare models for cheap at events like that.
Yea Iāve thought about it but havenāt properly looked into it.
Will do tho. I looked at it a few months ago but guess i just forgot tho
. Also there are ones at Heathrow that i could go to
Thereās one at Manchester soon I think. I use to go a lot before the Pandemic, havenāt been since though.
Cant make it to Manchester tho ![]()
The next time youāre in the US make sure to check out straight up Hobby stores, ones where plastic models are sold and have a big selection.
Pro Tip: the more disorganized and basement/cave smell the better selection. The only downside is:
- lights up your allergies.
- youāll be there a while digging through piles.
- youāll spend more money than you want but, youāll leave with a lot of goodies.
Otherwise those hidden hobby stores are the best.
Yea i haev an American eagle crj900 but havnt built it yet
Now, my current has it and I might have pics if I had permission from him (probably not) itās a project involving me, my sister, my friend and my friend sister. Iām not planning to go back to the project until August at the earliest.
This is what I was talking about
Not easy to spot tho Iāll probably might comeback sometime soon.
