Model Aircraft (Sharepoint)

I’ve found a solution, everyone says to use frog tape, but it worked fine for me with just the normal clear tape:

Looks fine, compared to the centerlines…

Heres the full road:

My newest model just arrived today, so here’s my current collection in chronological order of purchase:

Ilyushin IL-62M, ČSA Československé státní aerolinie (OK-Jet livery), 1:200, Herpa

Boeing 757-200, Air Slovakia, 1:150, Herpa Snap-Fit

Airbus A350-941, China Southern Airlines, 1:500, Herpa

McDonnell Douglas MD-11, Delta Air Lines, 1:400, Panda Models

Boeing 767-300ER, Icelandair, 1:200, PPC Holland

And today’s arrival: McDonnell Douglas MD-88, Iberia, 1:400, NG

That Iberia is beautiful. Haven’t been collecting for a while but might have to have a look for one of them.

There’s a couple of them on eBay at the moment. When did they get retired? Now that I’ve seen it I’m fairly interested in one if it can be paired with stuff like my Thomsonfly 737 and 757.

2011 was when the last couple were retired, 88’s that is. Might have to get one. Add it to my shelves of boxes :joy:. Would suit a Canary Island style airport of the early 2010s with the Thomsons.

Edit: bit the bullet, £50 down but a one off purchase.

I’ve joined you, that’s a very nice looking model, and a good excuse to have an aircraft type I otherwise wouldn’t have. It does help that there’s a promotional offer on getting Nectar points off eBay! The Avios balance continues to grow!

Same with me. I was collecting for a while aircraft that would suit a fictional Northern Pacific sort of British owned island airport thing, very convoluted , but I ended up just picking up models I liked. Never got an MD80 though so will be a nice addition. Very smart looking model.

See I’m basically collecting stuff for an airport in the Canary Islands (anything from modern day back to when stuff like Thomsonfly was still around) and then a separate collection of British regional models from a similar time frame. I got an email about this new foldable mat AMS are making, and it looks like a decent way to have somewhere to display my models that don’t see the light of day on my Canary airport, because a Flybe Dash 8 in Tenerife is a bit of a push…

That mat sounds interesting, having a bit of a mare with AMS atm tho, they still owe me a refund after 6 months of chasing them. A Canary style airport would be my number 2 idea, just found Japanese and Chinese models were cheap at the time I was purchasing them and could combine them that way with BA regional models. And yeah, I don’t think a FlyBe dash 8 would make it half way to the Canaries, plus the passengers would have tinnitus by the end .

I’ve not had any issues with them for a while now, only issue I have been having is my avios from the BA estore not pending despite the purchase being eligible for them. I’m keeping watch on that mat as the idea of something that can easily be stored but also not requiring much effort or time to display my other models on is quite appealing at the moment.

Great selection! Nice seeing some soviet model aircraft for once

Wait, NG? Do you mean panda because NG doesn’t have a MD11 mould iirc

Surprised NG haven’t made one yet, granted they’d probably never use it if they did. Is it the Panda mould Patriot use as well? I hear good things about them.
