Airline Name
Nations Air Express (alternatively Nations Air)(There was no officially listed logo that I could find, though I did see this on an archive of one of the airline’s flight schedules)
IATA: N5 / ICAO: NAE / CALLSIGN: NATIONS EXPRESS/NATIONS AIR EXPRESS [sources vary]
Founded and commenced charter operations in 1987 (as Miami Air Charter), commenced commercial operations in 1995 (Mar. 6th), ceased operations in 1999 (Sep. 1st)
(Financial difficulties, especially exacerbated by the 1996 ValuJet Flight 592 crash)
Country of Origin
United States of America, North America ()
Main Hub(s): Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT)
Aircraft Types Used (from those available in WoA)
(For this airline, some types operated are already available in WoA, some not.)Aircraft operated (already in-game/planned):
Boeing 737 (-200, B732) - 4 former.
(Pictured below: N305VA - later scrapped)Aircraft operated (not in-game):
Boeing 727 (-200, -200 Adv, B722) - 4 former.
(3/1 of both variants, respectively.)
(Pictured below: Boeing 727-200 N258US - later scrapped, known as OY-SES at end of its life)Shots of these 727s (in a somewhat different livery?) are rather hard to come by, possibly in part given the fact they were introduced in the final years of the airlines’ existence, specifically around 1997.
Thankfully though, the lone Adv variant was documented enough for references of both sides:(Pictured below: Boeing 727-200 Adv N203AV - later scrapped)
Why should this airline be added?
A rather obscure charter airline/LCC of the 1990s, I’d say this airline should be added primarily because of its very patriotic and striking livery, and would make for a nice little event airline that could be included with the upcoming 737-200s, or could even potentially appear as a special contract with a theoretical future Pittsburgh… only time will tell, thoughSOURCES:
