My thought was maybe if it’s more frequent would be to have the flight depart the destination when you push back the flight from the playable airport so it’s essentially 2x speed. If it needs to be less frequent, it just stays at the destination longer before coming back.
Given the size of LHR should devs consider intermittent double landings when no outbounds on taxiway?
It’s a really simple question…
The sheer size of it makes the game very very very tedious when the majority of one’s fleet is large or X.
Double landing would allow it to more dynamic.
This should go in ideas / suggestions. @ukplanespotter757 please move it.
Thank you!=]
What I really want is dual landings in MCT, since the taxi times are horrendously long. It would speed up gameplay so much.
Fair, but once MCT is filled to capacity its easy to keep up, LHR not even that. "/
In my opinion is since this rarely happens irl, and it would be hard to implement in game, that I don’t really think it would work. All other two runway airports have only one runway for landing, and you’d kinda have to add it to all of them for consistency. Choosing which runway for a plane to land would be tricky too, adding to difficulty.
Sped up runway and taxi times would help a lot. I still don’t understand why the devs are so locked to real time.
I think with multi-runways, the selection shouldn’t be that hard. Most airports use closest runway to the parking spot and/or assign based on plane size so 1 or 2 yes/no conditions. The hard situation is if 10 planes prefer the west runway while 0 are coming to the east runway, but you can skip trying to spread them out and it’s still better than it is now.
I think the real time thing is because it would look ridiculous having planes zooming around the tarmac. Imagine seeing a plane going twice as fast as they are right now. We also already have the speed up buff of controllers in the tower, where you can have planes landing or taxiing up to 15% faster. I do agree that there is a gap between reality vs game in handling speed, and the gap between reality vs game in taxi speed. But I think previous points already explain why it’s there.
Yes, please.
I not saying it shouldn’t be added, but I just think it wouldn’t fit in with the game and its aircraft movement system.
God NO!
I vote real time with an accelerator button
We kind of already have a speed up button with the approach and ground controllers. It would be nice to have one more like the handling speed up pre-2.0.
That speed up is barely noticeable tbh
I meant actual speed up, but I get your point.
It’s like this guy on instagram who has sped up videos of planes landing and taxiing and taking off and it irks me to think If that’s how the game actually played.
Alright, based on that I’ve created a bit of a concept for a speed up button. It’s very unbalanced and probably too expensive right now. There would be a cap, like +50% speed, and would speed up the individual plane, if it was behind a slower plane it would slow down, adding strategy.
What about making the handling process at the gate longer so the gates will stay occupied for a longer period of time and make it more realistic?
You can already do that.
It’s just going to cost you SP to not have a red mark on the contract
A small, simple ask to significantly reduce number of clicks:
- Long-press the add handlers button to add the max number of handlers. Alternatively, long-press to add enough handlers to just meet the handling time.
- Another option: long-press the gate agent to max out handlers AND add gate agent.
Will save some clicks…
I love this game.
Only time double landing happens at LHR is when one runway shuts say for an inspection, it reopens and to help with the congestion they allow double landings, same with period in the morning they allow double landings because of the congestion.
I agree with some aircraft especially bigger ones like A380 should at least be 40 mins in the green instead of the 28 mins.
