:bullseye: What is your suggestion?
Being able to purchase a pack for an airport or a time period for gold which would contain older liveries and airlines specific for that airport or that time period.

Either; A) You’d purchase a pack per airport for say 15/20 gold which would give you access to liveries and airlines which make sense to be at the airport.

B) You’d purchase year packs which provide access to airlines and liveries from that year and after for say 50 gold. e.g. 2005 to 2010 would be 50, then 2000 to 2005 would again be 50. These years could be decided by the devs depending on what works best for them.

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?
This could be a feature at the end of the airport pass where you can either A) purchase the pack for the airport or B) you can unlock and purchase a pack starting with 2005 and then unlock the next pack year 2000 and so on maybe back to 1990.

For example I’ll use ZRH for A), you purchase the pack at ZRH for 20 gold and it gives you access to Swissair, Crossair and Balair for locals, then for regionals the likes of old Alitalia/BA/Air France/KLM, Olympic and Sabena and then for internationals the likes of VASP, VARIG, TWA and others that fit.

For example I’ll use IAD for B), you purchase the 2005 pack (Using this just cause of above), this would provide access to airlines from 2005 onwards like Independence Air and TED as locals, Northwest Airlines, Continental Airlines, AirTran and Song as regional and SN Brussels Airlines and VARIG say for Internationals. Then you research the next one which would be say 2000, where you’d gain access to United’s DC-10’s and 727’s as locals say and then Continental’s DC-10’s and American’s 727’s as regional. And so on. Devs would have to add airlines and liveries that would only show and unlock once the packs were purchased.

These are merely examples but so many airports could have them as options. These liveries would also show as specials so they wouldn’t be behind a paywall unless you wished to operate them as a regular contract.

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?
What improvement would this bring? Better usability, realism, fun factor, accessibility?

This is a good idea as it would provide a new way for the devs to gain income and for players who would like to see and operate older liveries and airlines, to do so. This is notable with the 747 classics with only a small amount of passenger liveries being available for players to have regularly at their airports, however this could be changed with these packs, giving players access to said liveries without swamping the average players contracts.

ZRH 2000,

IAD 2004,

INN 2004,

HKG 2000,

SYD 1990-1999,

SCL 1990-1999,

Love this, I think GRU would also greatly benefit from this, having Varig (LOG) or VASP available. This might just be me, but I would even be willing to pay cash for this, if it was something like 10 - 15 € per airport as a sort of “legacy carriers DLC”, I’d definitely buy it at least for LHR, IAD and GRU, maybe SYD to get Ansett.
I suggested adding older contracts without the paywall earlier:

…but if a payment in GP/cash is necessary to make this feasible for the devs to consider, I’m all for it. It would make even more sense if and when more historic aircraft types such as B707, DC-8, DC-10 or L-1011 are added (presumably with Kai Tak). They could still arrive as events, making them available for free occasionally, but I would definitely appreciate an option to make them regular.
