LOT will have A220 in their fleet

We need it in WoA.

I actually heard it on the radio today while picking up food, surprisingly will they replace the E170 and E190 aircraft?

Probably yes. Even E175 and E195.

Wonder if the flights will be on the 380 or 777s. Nethertheless excited to have another widebody at LGW

From what I’ve seen the MAN flights are 777s that depart after our current latest Emirates flight, it’s been a good while since we last had an EK 777 there, they use to operate the first departure of the day until it got swapped to an A380.

Yeah, we get 777s most mornings, occasionally we’ll have a 380 though

It’s been a while now since we had an EK 777 at MAN (with the exception of some freighters last summer), I read somewhere that Manchester is one of Emirates busiest routes and one of the busiest A380 routes by flight and passenger numbers but don’t quote me there.

It probably is, LHR and JFK are the only ones would have more i think, maybe LAX and some Asian airports.

For somewhere that isn’t a capital city, 3 daily A380s is really something. I believe Qatar are up to 4 flights a day now and Etihad 2, plus we have Kuwait, Saudia, Royal Jordanian and Gulf Air. Middle East to MAN flights are booming at the moment, just a shame Oman Air never returned, as Oman Air restarting flights would really complete the set.

I could also see PIA start to MAN in the future, not sure if the ban on the UK has been lifted like the EU?

I don’t think it has, they had quite a sizeable presence at MAN for quite some time.

Following the AI crash of the 787 (however the Independent says it’s a 737 max.) AI have suspended some routes and reduced frequency on some. They have suspended all Gatwick routes, and Heathrow and Birmingham will have less frequency, the disruptions will probably last until mid July when the 787 and 777 safety checks are over.

This is a preliminary report
It would appear, as was guessed, that it was dual engine failure… except that this was pilot error driven. Why the switches were hit, we may never know. At a speed of 180 knots and only ~600ft up, only 10 seconds of fuel cutoff was all it took.

This only makes the crash stranger imo, every new theory (human error, suicide, fault/failure) seems to have reasonable doubt with holes in its logic or be very unlikely.

I also find the report strange when talking about what is said in the cockpit, there’s no timestamps, direct quotes, or even who said it.

40 years from first Ryanair flight.

That is what I have a feeling about.

The recording shows one pilot asking the another one why he cut the fuel off and he said he didn’t. I am not sure if B787 has a program to cut off the fuel under certain circumstance, but that could be the only possible reason if the pilots have not touched those switches as per their discussion.
