Are we seeing a potential return of BA flights from MAN to not LHR??? British Airways not being London centric Airways???
They hub airline same as Emirates, KLM. Where you fly from from Manchester, Newcastle etc to Heathrow then fly on to another destination, won’t work having a base at Manchester only way would be BA Cityflyer, but isn’t MAN full to rafters?
No chance don’t have enough aircraft for that demand and some those airports are full already. If anything maybe Cityflyer but they need new aircraft as well but with all delays from supply chains and P&W GTF engine troubles that’s both E2 and A220, Though be interesting to see how Euroflyer is doing out of Gatwick alongside EasyJet.

With its Runway extension now, EasyJet fly from their as do TUi to Palma seasonal though thought latter would be Gatwick crews apparently it’s East Midlands TUi crews.

Appears the loss of the KLM contract buggered them. They’re not dead yet but majority of staff have been axed it seems.

Shame, wonder if the government could give them a bit of money to operate some air services like they do with Loganair, or… BA could buy them out and use the E190s to expand up north?

Would be the ideal situation. One problem, it’s the UK government lol. Only bailed out the steel works in Scunthorpe because of the uproar and the security implications.

Today, JY-BAG was shown as the first Royal Jordanian Airlines Boeing 787 to be painted in the carrier’s new livery. Until now, only smaller aircraft, such as the newly delivered Embraer E-190-E2s, E195-E2s and Airbus A320neos have featured the updated design. The aircraft was photographed operating into London Heathrow today from Amman as flight RJ111.

That looks not good. And an MD-11 too. Thankfully appears to just be warehouses and distribution units to the south of the airport so I’m hoping they were empty.

Ohhh that’s not good. Got to wonder what happened, looks like they lost all thrust, and that’s a big fire already so soon after takeoff while still in the air…

Fire doesn’t encompass that… that’s either a fuel explosion or a collision with another aircraft I’m guessing…

I doubt its another plane, nothing on FR24 at the time, was a 763 taking off on the parallel runway which must’ve been an horrific sight for the crew. Could’ve been an engine explosion on takeoff which ignited some fuel in the left wing making the fire that massive, or potentially a fuel explosion centered on the left engine.
For anyone who doesn’t wish to touch twitter (I don’t blame you).
