Wonder if they do a 15th base ![]()
Ahh, but 5 A321s don’t seem like enough aircraft for the routes they announced
Well the routes won’t be every day.
Most will be 2x weekly but you have 3x 4x 5x and 10x weekly for some flights, so I still don’t see how a few A321s will be able to handle the 29 routes.
Lots of fuel and coffee ![]()
Still got their pickings of Norwich, Exeter, Teeside, Cardiff, Aberdeen, Inverness, Newquay and Derry. I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up announcing another one at some point.
Reckon Exeter be a base, not sure on the others.
Cardiff only one out of them for me, all the other airports are too small, wouldn’t make a profit, all the stuff in the Midlands can go to Birmingham and EMA and the norths got loads of bases, Aberdeen isn’t as big as it once was due to less drilling (shouldn’t have stopped) but ig you’ve got Bristol, but TUI seem to make money with their 5 or so routes out of Cardiff.
Air China Cargo has ordered six A350F
Air Algérie has taken delivery of their first A330-900
Doesn’t Thomson also do Norwich though? Could make for a bit of competition. Surprised Doncaster/Sheffield hasn’t been lumped in, though if Ryanair couldn’t make a profit it might be doomed.
TUi nowadays ![]()
This would really suck not long after Eastern Airways.
Isn’t it Blue Islands who were going to launch the Skybus Gatwick to Newquay flights?
Yes till April then Aurigny was taking over. Aurigny could take the ATRs if Blue Island goes under.
Well that would be crud. Losing a lot of regional airlines atm.
Other news regarding Eastern,
Blue Island suspends operations https://www.itv.com/news/channel/2025-11-14/blue-islands-suspends-operations-with-immediate-effect?fbclid=IwdGRleAOEh71leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAo2NjI4NTY4Mzc5AAEep8vO-sekTXkoQoDGim0w9oDP8zQWDVm8F8v9XjfZan5rks-EWWzVZH6cDds_aem_T4CZ-_HsiAsnUUOyvI0nzg
Loganair J41s, wonder if ATR 42 can do the route.
I’d guess so but would it be profitable? Eastern operated the ATR72 so feasibly could’ve operated the 42 but instead chose to fly older J41s. Makes you wonder.
Was thinking more of if they can land at Wick ![]()
I believe so, Wick can take 146s but I’ll look it up ![]()
Edit; Has a longer main runway than Guernsey so can take up to A320s at a push but I doubt there’ll ever be a need lol.
