Well this isn’t fun, just over two weeks after Eastern went bust now it’s Blue island’s turn

Again, doesn’t suprise me, surprised they made it 30 years tbh, surely the ferry’s gotta be cheaper, and you can take a car, because Jersey isn’t set up for walking…
What’s happening! Why are they all dying! This is INSANE!
You won’t want take a ferry it can take between 4 to 10 hours.
Still, I know Jersey’s nice, but why go there when usually you can go to Spain for the same price if not cheaper
Be like why go to Spain when you can go to Greece or Turkey.
Greece and Turkey usually more expensive, but even if their the same, why go to Jersey when you could go to Greece, same concept

Seems the MD-11 grounding has been extended to the DC-10.
Apparently FedEx aim to have them back in service after a deep inspection
Depends what you’re looking for. Jersey is an English speaking island, with a mixed English French culture and a more Norman identity. The same thing applies with Spain, if you just want sun and sea then yes it doesn’t make sense to go to Jersey or to Northern Spain yet you can get flights there as areas such as Galicia, Leon, Asturias and the Basque Country all have their own unique identities and culture. I think Blue Islands is a bit large for what it should be, an airline that connects the people of Jersey to local regional airports they wish to visit or need to go to like Southampton, whereas easyJet or previously FlyBe could fill in the other routes for tourism.
Yeah, why Aurigny has a good setup
Wonder if we will get Loganair from Jersey in game now.
Yeah, I mean, I get if it’s safe, things have to move on, but I can’t help but think of pure corporate greed as well. With passenger airlines you’d have a much bigger frenzy, but with a cargo airline and plane only carrying ~3-5 people, it’s just money money money at that point, and if they aren’t flying, they aren’t making money. ![]()
Just need more ATRs.
I hate to say it, but wow that was quick, I remember hearing that they were a new startup a few months back but I honestly didn’t even think they were flying yet. That really sucks.
I feel that was a problem with ANA’s management board.
It looks like ANA started Air Japan just because JAL started Zip Air. So they need to have a counterpart.
They did not have careful planning about the products, like Zip Air’s barebone flat business product. Simply transfer their B788 to Air Japan with full eco config. And they also didn’t have careful branding to make it distinctive, people don’t quite understand how the brand works differently for them and comment that to be a Zip Air competitor because ANA has to do something when JAL does.
ANA has Peach as its low cost carrier and the branding is very good tbh. Long reach low cost carrier is a very tricky market and careful planning is definitely needed.
On the long reach low cost front, I think Jetstar kind of has them at a disadvantage there
